CSULA FALL 2020

Published

Hello. I wanted to create this forum for people who are applying to Cal State Los Angeles for Fall 2020. This is a place where we can discuss and compare statistics between us, as well as ask questions regarding the program. Thank you and good luck to you all!

YASSS PACSON???

Also you are right about my portal saying incomplete. They said it might take a few weeks before everything is processed with transcripts, etc. so not to worry about my portal status.

I was wondering if anyone made a facebook group for class of 2023 yet?

I don't believe anyone did.

Has anyones little yellow triangle turned back into a check mark yet?

I submitted all my transcripts in person on 3/11. Some of my documents have fallen off my TO-DO list but not all.

Just curious.

I'm in the same boat. I called the school yesterday, and they said to just give it a few more days for the remainder to fall off the to-do list. She also stressed the importance of keeping the receipt that shows when the transcripts were sent.

Oh nice. I wasn't sure if admissions was open or not due to COVID19. I have my receipt as well.

Current CSULA students:

What was your holiday schedule for your first semester? I have to rebook a trip due to COVID 19 and wanted to know when the breaks were. If there was any.

Does CSULA send out an 'awards letter' for financial aid? How does that process work?

I emailed them a couple weeks ago and they said they are behind, but we should get an email at the end of the month... which is basically now. Also, CSULB just sent an email today saying our financial aid package is ready. I hope CSULA sends theirs soon because I want to compare my loan options.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look for housing? I’m not from LA and don’t know the neighborhoods that would be good to look at. I do want somewhere close enough to school but also close to places where I could go out and explore and have fun with our minimal time off! I know it can be expensive, I definitely at least want my own room if not a studio for myself. Any suggestions help!

also I can make a facebook page if everybody wants ?

Hi there ? @SceneIsNotSafe

I've lived in LA county my whole life and I live more on the east side.

Some places I would recommend that are safe and close to school are Alhambra, Rosemead, Monterey Park, Pasadena, and Temple City.

I live in Rosemead and it only takes me 15 mins to get to CSULA, possibly less depending on how fast you drive and traffic. It's pretty close to DTLA also and there are tons of things to do there! I would say in close proximity to almost everything (DTLA, Disneyland, hiking trails, restaurants, and the beach isn't too far either.

You should def make a facebook page!!

Hope this helps!

Yessss make a fb page ! LOL.

I live in west LA. It’s like 15 miles and 20 mins from campus and it is much safer and nicer than East LA where campus is. I like it a lot, but it is more expensive than the east side. I also like how the traffic is reversed since going east in the morning isn’t that bad, same with going west in the afternoon. West LA is also very close to the beach and has tons of bars, great restaurants, and stuff to do (at least when this quarantine is over).
