I've been reading the thread of CSULA Fall 2014 nursing applicants & wanted to start one for this upcoming CSULA Fall of 2015. I am extremely eager to know how many points people have. I have 24pts & am going to retake my TEAS this upcoming November. Those who are interested as well, please don't be afraid to comment!
I've been reading the thread and decided its time for me to add. Unfortunately I do not think I will get in, but here it goes:Prereq GPA 3.86: 10 pts
Cum GPA 2.91: 1 pt
TEAS Reading 83: 4 pts
TEAS English 98 : 5 pts
Volunteer Hours 100+: 2 pts
So that is 22 points. I swear, my low gpa is based off my poor scores at Loyola Marymount University back in 2011. I made up most of the failed courses and LMU won't take them because I needed to repeat them at their school, which is understandable, but no way I can afford the tuition. Anyways my cumulative GPA at my community college is a 3.79 on 63 units. It boils my blood I cannot do more to improve my chances of getting in, but seeing the nature of how competitive getting into nursing school is, I might consider applying to an associates program first.
Just think positive! I don't know if you already know about the collaborative program but in case you dont here is a link with more information:

Think of it as a back up in case you don't manage to get in to the BSN basic program. The program is the same length as the BSN program.
Hello everyone!! I also applied for Fall 2015. I am at 24pts which is scary because that seems to be the cutoff judging from last year's stats. Unfortunately I waited too long to take my TEAS (in December), so I had no time to retake it ... Best of luck to all of you!

I also applied at Cal State Long Beach. It seems to me I have a higher chance to get in there based on my stats, but you never know, they have a communications exercise we need to attend if we are among the top applicants.
There's still a chance here for you, I've been reading some of the threads and it seems that in the past many people that are waitlisted get in because those who've been accepted later choose not to attend. I'm working on my application for CSULB too. Good luck to us both :) Do you know anyone who's been through the communications exercise?

I don't know anyone personally, but I read in the Spring 2015 applicant forum for CSULB that they basically ask questions, have us watch videos and answer questions based on the videos and do activities as a group like puzzles. They schedule an interview by groups I have no idea how big though, it seems like they break down the groups further once you are there.
Here are my stats!
Pre-req: 10 points
Overall gpa: 5 points
Reading teas: 3 points
English teas: 5 points
Volunteer: 2 points
25 points
Still upset that I scored so low in the reading section! I shouldn't have waited until the last minute :/
Volunteer hours I am cramming until march lol
Btw if I am taking micro and stats in the spring is that calculated in my gpa as a C? Or not at all?
