I've been reading the thread of CSULA Fall 2014 nursing applicants & wanted to start one for this upcoming CSULA Fall of 2015. I am extremely eager to know how many points people have. I have 24pts & am going to retake my TEAS this upcoming November. Those who are interested as well, please don't be afraid to comment!
Hi all. I'm trying to apply to CSULA's ABSN but can't seem to find the address to send my paperwork to. Also, if they letters of recommendation are coming from the recommenders, where do they send them to? Do they need to write anything specific in the letter so that it's matched to my application? Any insight would be great.
Hey everyone!
Here are my stats:
Overall GPA: = 5 pts
Prereq GPA: = 10 pts
TEAS Reading - 5 pts
TEAS English/Grammar -5 pts
Total = 25 pts
Just sent in my app by mail today. I'm completing a CNA program right now, so if I get some work experience I may be able to add a few points before the march deadline.
Hope everyone gets in!
Howdy~! It's so nice to meet everybody! c:
These are my application stats:
Overall GPA = 3.87 = 5 pts
Prereq GPA = 3.90 = 10 pts
TEAS
Reading = 98% = 5 pts
English = 98% = 5 pts
Volunteer Work = 300 hrs = 2 pts
TOTAL: 27 points
I'm currently a Health Science major at CSULA. I still have Biology 200B and Microbiology in progress, but they will be completed by the secondary paperwork deadlines after the winter and spring quarters respectively.
Speaking of which, does anyone happen to know how CSULA's conversion from quarters to semesters in Fall 2016 with affect our curriculum?

Hi xochrlstinaxo,
It states on their application info that they do not look at recommendations so it would serve no purpose to include them.
okay i'm really nervous. i just sent out my csula nursing application through the mail on new years eve and I don't know whether the school of nursing has received my application or not. Should I send one in person just to make sure? I'm pretty sure i send it thru priority mail so it should arrive within 1-3 days that means it should have arrived on the 3rd, how do i know if they have received or not? I read that if you send it, they will give you a confirmation receipt, but how do i receive this receipt? is it mailed out? or they email you?
I don't think you need to worry about it. The application checklist says that unless your envelope is postmarked after Jan. 5th, it would be okay.
I sent mine through Priority express mail today and will be delivered tomorrow, which is Jan. 6th.
But since it's postmarked today, I'll be fine I guess? lol
Why didn't you send it through certified mail or priority express mail? If you request signature confirmation, you can make sure if they have received or not.
Hi there,i, too, was in your position not so long ago. If you have a score of 23/24, it's either you get accepted or wait-listed. however, there will always be a couple (or several) applicants who will reject the acceptance for many reasons. Hang tight and good luck!
Hi goalkeeper,
I noticed you were in the fall 2014 thread for CSULA and got accepted. Did you end up going to the program? If so, can you tell us a bit on what its like? How are clinicals and what hospitals are offered as options? Any insight would be appreciated!
I've been reading the thread and decided its time for me to add. Unfortunately I do not think I will get in, but here it goes:
Prereq GPA 3.86: 10 pts
Cum GPA 2.91: 1 pt
TEAS Reading 83: 4 pts
TEAS English 98 : 5 pts
Volunteer Hours 100+: 2 pts
So that is 22 points. I swear, my low gpa is based off my poor scores at Loyola Marymount University back in 2011. I made up most of the failed courses and LMU won't take them because I needed to repeat them at their school, which is understandable, but no way I can afford the tuition. Anyways my cumulative GPA at my community college is a 3.79 on 63 units. It boils my blood I cannot do more to improve my chances of getting in, but seeing the nature of how competitive getting into nursing school is, I might consider applying to an associates program first.

hey! well I actually have over 300 hours of volunteer work but as far as my patient-related volunteer work program I worked for was only in the summer. Sonyes, it was only under 100 hours unfortunately! I worked for a small, catholic hospital.
