I posted this in the California forum, but I think it got lost so I'm posting it here!

Who here is applying for the CSULA nursing program for Fall 2014? What are your stats? Have you taken the TEAS exam yet? I'm excited!

I have not taken the TEAS yet, but have my date scheduled for Oct. 25th.

This is what happened.. For my area C of the csu ge I took 3 classes and one of them was piano and it was 2 units not 3 and I didn't realize and apparently none of the counselors did either. I took the cna class at wlac and the CPR class is .5 units and transferable to csu. So me taking the cna class could have saved me depending on what happens.

You are gonna apply for spring semester at LB? I was thinking of that also… you can finish in two years instead of three, so you'd still finish ahead of this cohort. AND… no chance of an A-or B- lowering your GPA….

Yes if csula turns out to be no bueno. I'll have ALL pre reqs finished plus I'll have all summer to study for the teas. I did well the first time but scored low on the science because I did not study at all for it. Csulb is also semester not quarter. The whole nursing program is like 5 semesters, the hours are great too

It's 6 semesters. That's why the trimester program gets you done in 2 years. 3 with the Semester schedule... Would I have to retake the TEAS if I applied there for Spring Semester?

its just a little further drive for me….

No you had an excellent score. I added mine up with my current teas and I have around an 8.91 I want it to be higher

Me too. If I got into lb I would be moving around there

unfortunately, relocation is not an option for me….

I had to move back in with parents recently. Now I'm in sylmar, and most likely will be here until I finish the program. From CSULA it's about 30 miles, but from CSULB it's about 50...

It's 20 minutes more per trip… maybe worth it?

You'll start a semester later but finish a semester earlier. Classes are still only a couple days a week but clinicals are in long beach Torrance Anaheim Fullerton
