Hello! I was just wondering if anyone out there has applied to the CSULA ELMN program for Fall 2009? Maybe we can discuss what everyone's heard about their application, interviews, TEAS scores, etc.
:wink2:
I still haven't heard from Kathy Hinoki, so I'm assuming that I won't be among those selected. I am going to accept the offer of admission at CSUN, get experience, then apply to MSN-NP programs. Good luck to everyone who was accepted! I wish you all the best.
I know a few NPs who graduated from CSULA's MSN-NP program and they loved it, so I hope you will have also have a positive experience in the ELMN program. They did mention that the ELMN students were always kind of stressed out because of having to work while taking classes full-time--but that could also be a positive thing. You get to apply what you're learning sooner and I believe that will be a huge benefit in the end.
I just got rejection e-mail.
Prof. Hinoki was very nice. She gave me an individual message that was very discreet with encouragement. She wrote that she could put me on waiting list if I wanted (but that only 1 or 2 students decline acceptance) I have no idea to how many students she's offering this.
Good luck to others

She sent me a similar email.
Congratulations to those who were accepted!
I'm disappointed, but I'm happy that I at least have one acceptance so far and am still waiting to hear from 3 other programs. There are many paths that will lead us to our goals, and this just made deciding how I will start my path that much easier.
Best of luck to everyone!!

MSNapplicant, did she ask you if you wanted to be on the waiting list or did she say that you were already it (automatically) and to confirm that you want to stay on it by emailing her back?

Thanks for the update, just.fran :)
I'm trying to wait patiently, but have a feeling that I won't be getting good news:(
