Hi all,
I saw the thread for the BSN Basic program, and wanted to start this one. I'm taking the TEAS on 12/20 for the first time (eek!) because I had to take the GREs for my other apps. I saw that the BSN Basic program has a point system. Does the ABSN program have that too? And do we need to sent in verification of volunteer hours too?
Hello everyone and congratulations to all that have interviews set-up! That must be an exciting experience. I'm considering this program for next year. I know that you havent started school, but once you do, could share info on how classes are scheduled? How many days per week you attend class and/or lecture, and how the clinicals are arranged. I'd like to get an idea so that i know how to plan my entire family and timing. Thanks!

I've been PMing people and it sounds very fast paced and hardcore.. At least for the ABSN portion. You can go with the preceptors they choose for you but it is advised to find your own so you can be guaranteed the best mentor/ teacher.
As for the schedule, my friend told me that one day is off. I think a Thursday. But everyday you do have lecture of full day clinicals or both. But doesn't seem to have anything scheduled on weekends.
You should PM people from the older threads and ask them to break it down :)
Hi everybody! I am a current student in the ABSN/ELMN cohort 11. I do not remember what my timeline was but I know I got an interview email about 3 weeks after the first notification of interviews so hang in there! Scheduling varies by quarter. It is absolutely not true that we don't do weekends. A lot of clinicals happen on the weekends. It just depends on which clinical you end up on. Let me know if I can answer any questions! Oh and in regards to UCLA MECN vs CSULA: it all depends on what kind of nurse you want to be! If you want to go on to a CNL role then go for UCLA! If you want to become an NP then CSULA is the way to go! I believe your class still gets offered the opportunity to continue on and do the MSN at CSULA after the 15 months for the BSN are over (as long as you pass the nclex and keen a minimum 3.0 GPA). If your ending goal is to be an RN then it's just a numbers game I would say ($) and that whole UCLA name/reputation.

I had contacted both the coordinator and the assistant a few weeks ago and they answered me a few days ago. And I got my interview invite 2 days ago at 9pm PST! Mine is a March date.
