CSUF Accelered Nursing 2016

Published

Hi everyone!

I've been searching the internet for any forums relating to Cal State Fullerton's Accelerated Nursing program for Fall 2016! Has anyone else out there applied? If so I was just curious about total points (mine was 82/100 I believe), other schools in which people have applied, and wanted to make a thread for anyone else out there who wants to keep in touch regarding interview dates and what not.

Hi all, I just got pulled off the alternate list and was accepted. They emailed me on 6/3. I'm not sure of my total points but I live in northern California so I don't have the extra points for service area residency. Excited to join you all :) Is anyone else coming from out of the area?

Hi Sara, what an awesome news you've got, congratulations! Keeping fingers crossed for myself.

So happy for you sara189!! This is so exciting, just waiting for my turn. Lol

Does anyone know what the schedule will look like? How many days a week and where are clinicals?

Hey guys,

Congrats on making it into the program. I'm a current aBSN for CSUF. Just to give you guys a preview. First semester should be about 4~5 days a week depending on how they schedule you. We had some classes down at the Irvine campus in the first semester which is a long commute if you live north of the main campus. They started us with 1 clinical to get us accustomed to the hospital (9hr days). Clinical sites for the program are primarily located primarily in OC with some in the Ontario area. They include the St. branches (Jude,Joseph's,etc) and Kaiser branches (Irvine, Anaheim). The workload is very time consuming regardless of semester, especially if you want to do well (lots of reading), but first semester is definitely one of the toughest.

Good luck, make friends, study hard. Its a wild ride. :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about the program, Skiro! I'm excited and nervous to start.

Any more news from alternates???

A handful of documents, blood titers, and vaccines are due on the 15th. Including background checks and drug tests so if people have failed these or documents are not submitted on time, they may be dropped from the program.

Thank you for the information VW45. Best wishes to you :)

Hi @Skiro, we were just emailed a list of books that we need to buy; the books/bundle will be available for purchase during orientation (8/3). I'm just wondering if there is anywhere else where we can purchase the books/bundle for cheaper?

Hi Guys, I just graduated from the A-BSN at CSUF in May and we NEVER had a cool nursing sweatshirt. So after I graduated I put together this order form for anyone who wants to order. You pay CustomInk on the website, and the entire order will be sent to the School of Nursing office. Please share with anyone you think would want one. Hello, I would love to know what the application scores were for those who were invited to interview and/or accepted into the CSUF ABSN program. I wonder if I have a chance??? Thanks so much!
