My spouse applied for spring 2020 at CSUEB, his stats are 3.7 gpa, 85% TEAS, native, 3 years as EMT. Hope he gets in. Anyone else apply?

Thank you! She volunteers at a hospital I was just wondering what made it multicultural. I'll recommend that she emails them ?

Certain aspects of volunteering at the hospital can be multicultural as well. http://www.csueastbay.edu/nursing/files/docs/optional-work-volunteer-form.pdf

I'm also looking for place to stay in Concord. I'm from S.F. Will you girls rent for the whole year or month by month? Because I'm thinking to rent during the spring semester and back to SF during the summer. Then rent for the whole school year when school starts.
Hi everyone! I know I'm a little late on this topic, but hopefully it helps someone in the future. For East Bays nursing program they actually go based off of 2 GPA's! The first GPA is all 4 science pre-reqs (chem, micro, anatomy, physio), the second GPA is all 8 pre reqs (the 4 science, stats, psych, english, and speech/communication). I hope this helps some people I see many people saying they have a 3.9 GPA but got denied. Anyways, Im not applying until Spring 21', but good luck to everyone! Also, the four classes that aren't science aren't required, but you have a better chance of getting in if those are already completed.
I recently got an offer acceptance, where I had been on the waitlist. It's possible I may need to thank may7281, 8). I have accepted the opening and now waiting for the official offer.
I am also waiting to hear back from a few accelerated master's programs--Johns Hopkins, UCLA, and Univ San Diego. I expect to hear from John Hopkins by the end of December. The other two will be March-ish.

No one can say what is right for you. That said, I would consider cost, location, and time. Samual Merrit is definitely more expensive. Will you need to move? Are you able to handle being away from family; not that you would see much of them anyway in school. How much debt are you willing to leave school with? You have to consider financial aid, loans, scholarships, and so forth. Which program will get you to the field of nursing you "think" you want to end up? Probably cannot work full time for either, but maybe CSUEB might be able to work a day or two a week. I assume SM not so much.

I am leaning toward CSUEB, mostly because an accelerated program just sounds miserable. But your question of which program would be stronger in one particular field of nursing is an interesting one, and I'm wondering if you have any specific knowledge of the strengths of SM vs. CSUEB. I am interested in going into ambulatory surgery, so I figured one program wouldn't really be that different from another. I do live in Oakland and would prefer to do clinicals at hospitals I would like to eventually work at, but I still don't think it would be worth the sacrifice of having to take NINETEEN UNITS. The financial aspect is tricky, because I would have to be in school for an extra year at CSUEB, where as the accelerated program I would graduate earlier and be able to start working as an RN.
