Hi everyone! I'm wondering who's applying for stanislaus nursing program this spring 2015? Also, what is your overall stats? Btw, I am new to this community, so I'm still learning how to use this haha
Sounds good to me Nancycc! I haven't purchased books yet.... Was going to wait till the bootcamp to do that. Both days work for me (as far as I can think of right now). I can't stay after 230 though because I have to come back here and pick up my kids.
BertG77.... Representing the murses! Nice!
We can meet on Monday if you'd like. I just remembered I have an appointment on Tuesday so I wouldnt be able to meet on Tuesday. I drop off my son at daycare at around 7:30 and have to be back by 3:30 to pick him up. It'll take me about 30 mins to get to Turlock so just pick a time and I'll be there. I purchased the books only because I was already there so I said what the heck ill just buy them now. I payed a little over $1000 because I had to purchase another book for another class. I had to take another class to make the 12 units but if you're only purchasing the nursing books it should be under $1000. Its not only one book though. Its a bundle. They referred to it as the first semester bundle. It includes the books we will need for all three nursing classes. So all you need to purchase is that bundle. Everything's included in there.
I've heard nothing but terrible things about CSU Stanislaus, particularly the ASBSN program. Attend at your own risk, and only if you can't get into another program. They are poorly ranked anyways. A waste
I'm starting the second year of my BSN program at CSU Stan and can't say anything but wonderful things about the school of nursing, the faculty, staff, facilities, you name it. As an active participant in school activities I'm close with students in other cohorts ahead of me and they also have had a great experience.
Granted, I have no idea about the ASBSN program, but since you are making claims about the school as a whole I can speak on its behalf in that regard. Not sure where you got your information about their ranking but what do you consider 'poorly'? It's true they are outranked by all the SF schools you're inquiring about in your other posts ( the ones you seem to wish you could get into considering how much you dislike the one you're currently in) but they do not rank poorly in my opinion. Here are some rankings:

Our nclex pass rate has consistently been in the 90th percentile:

It's upsetting to have someone bash my school especially when the entire experience has so far been amazing, and the person making the bogus claims is out of touch with the situation.
@Jeneaux um, please do some research before you speak about Stanislaus nursing program being "poorly rank" because we have a 95-100% NCLEX pass rate.
Like what @mishabc said, you are not up to date with the current statistics so I suggest start looking it up, I mean its 2015. Thank you :)

I'll be on a panel that I believe is intended to have an emphasis on men in nursing.
