Hi Everyone!

I see that there is no thread for the cohort for Spring 2015 for the ABSN Program yet! So this is my official attempt at making a thread for it! Please use this thread as a place for comments, questions and admission decision updates! I actually have been offered conditional acceptance already and would love to meet future classmates! Thanks guys!

I've been accepted! *Thrilled*. This has been 4 years in the making! I look forward to meeting everyone. :)

m00nisse... I'm not sure what cohort # it is but 21 sound about right based on what I've seen before. I can help you manage it if you'd like. Can't wait to meet everyone!

@naturegal Congrats!! About how long did it take for you to find out? When did you apply? Thanks!!

@marmar13, I actually got the ball rolling 9 months ago (not that you need to go that far) and submitted my spring transcript and then my summer anatomy transcript. It took about 6 weeks each time I submitted anything (application+initial docs, then subsequent transcripts). If you're local, the response is much quicker when you drop your official transcript off at the EL office. Good luck!

@naturegal thanks!! Ya I started with everything a few months ago too, but there were some technical difficulties on their end, so now everything is finally taken care of! Hopefully it's smooth sailing from here, but we will see. Do you happen to know how many spots are left in the Spring cohort?

Did it take 6 weeks after you submitted your summer transcript @naturegirl? My transcript has been there a week and nothing yet it was sent electronically and that was supposed to be faster, should I be worried? Haha

Yup, I live in the LA county. CSUSM is just one of the schools I'll be applying to, but if I get an acceptance before I finish the other applications, I'll probably take CSUSM on their offer. :p

@marmar13 - I don't know but based on my past research, the spring cohort hasn't typically filled until early October.

@Cking89 - It took 6 weeks for my spring transcript to clear b/c I mailed it - I'm not sure how long it takes electronically, but speaking to sending it via postal mail, transcripts seem to get held up in admissions for a lengthy time, approx 4 weeks. From there they go to EL and by 6 weeks, you have your eval worksheet.

Hi everyone! Congratulations to those of you who have been accepted. :)

I just submitted my application and turned in my transcripts last week (I dropped them off in person). I'm not sure how I'm going to make it through the next month or two of waiting for an answer.

Naturegal, thank you for the info about how long it has taken in the past for the cohort to fill. My biggest fear is that I submitted my application too late and that they'll roll me over to the summer cohort.

@kelbel912 - You're welcome! I know how anxiety-producing this process is. I can't tell you how many times I compared my estimated points to their average admitted points over the last few semesters. :) (to see those stats, click the link below)

Hi everyone!

Congratulations to those accepted! I just turned in my application and I'm about to send in all my transcripts. It seems like it's recommended to physically submit the documents to the EL office? I am from LA, but I'm willing to make the drive out there if that means my application will be processed much faster. Any thoughts? Thanks you future nurses, you! :cat:

Hi 3shaaa,

I think it is nicer to take it into the office physically because you know, for sure, it made it there. I know I was stressing out for weeks because it takes so long when you send it in the mail and I live right next to Cal State San Marcos, I wish I had known I could take it in myself! But ether way you do it, just call the EL office a few weeks after you send/drop off your transcripts, the person I spoke to on the phone was really nice and they tell you if they have everything and where in the process you are! Good luck! =)
