Csu san marcos spring 2015 absn

Published

Hi Everyone!

I see that there is no thread for the cohort for Spring 2015 for the ABSN Program yet! So this is my official attempt at making a thread for it! Please use this thread as a place for comments, questions and admission decision updates! I actually have been offered conditional acceptance already and would love to meet future classmates! Thanks guys!

Hi! I'm wrapping up my final prereq (anatomy) and will hopefully hear about acceptance by late August. Very excited... and congrats on your acceptance!

Hello!

First of all, congrats on your acceptance!!

I've finished all pre-req in May and taken the TEAS exam in July.

So I am waiting for my first evaluation and hopefully I can be accepted for SP 2015 cohort.

I am too very excited but the waiting is sooo awful.. OTL

If you don't mind, can you share your final points and the timeframes for both evaluations and acceptance?

In my calculation, I have 38 points total.

Btw, anyone has an experience with a course equivalency request?

I think I maybe need to do for my microbio, but I just wandering ABSN program is flexible with this kind of situation.

Hi! I have also received my conditional acceptance but I am still debating whether to take it or not. I am ecstatic that I got into the program but I am unsure how I will pay for everything. I also have been accepted to an ADN program for Fall 2014.

As for my timeframe:

May 20 - applied for Fall 2014; took ~2wks to remove transcripts/TEAS from my To do list)

July 1 - application was rolled over for Spring 2015

July 9 - received evaluation worksheet

July 16 - got my conditional acceptance

Aug 1 - deadline for intent to enroll & deposit

Even though things progressed pretty quickly for me, the wait was still nerve-wracking. I am actually pretty surprised that I got in as my total points are under 30 (TEAS 85%). So for those who are disheartened about applying, finish all your classes and apply early.

Hi

Congrats on your acceptances!

And I really appreciate your sharing!!

So it actually takes at least 4 to 6 weeks for me to get an evaluation worksheet..

BTW, anybody has a concern/info about their new math requirement for statistics course?

Hello,

For those of you who were admitted- congrats! Did you receive any notification/ change of status on your My CSUSM account when you were conditionally admitted? I know the acceptances come through email but I was curious if you could also check using My CSUSM.

I received my evaluation on July 3rd with a total of 41 points. I believe that makes me a pretty competitive applicant but I have not heard anything yet. :/

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kelly

Thanks! Statistics seems to be a growing requirement for other programs as well. I had to take it for an ADN program and several ABSN programs.

Hello! MyCSUSM should indicate a change of status into "admitted" instead of "completed application." Another column gives an option to accept or decline. I've read an old thread here about CSUSM possibly ranking applicants by zip code (SD county vs Riverside county vs LA county) and admitting a certain percentage from those already ranked. That spring 2011 thread also mentioned that they admit monthly or so: https://allnurses.com/california-nursing/cal-state-san-455107-page27.html (see middle of pg 30 as well). Just hang in there! I'm sure with your points you will be able to get into the program. It is still early for the cohort to be full. Best of luck to you!

Thank you m00nisse! I will keep looking out for the email and status change on MyCSUSM. If I hear anything, I'll let you guys know!

Hi everyone! I'm still waiting on hearing back from two more schools but I am 75% sure I will be attending San Marcos! Anyone care to exchange FB information later on so we can meet our future classmates and maybe figure out living situations? I am coming from the bay area so I would love to meet some people and explore the campus and area together!

Hello Everybody,

I sent my application on July 18 after they fixed their website, and just got my eval (which does not look too good points wise...), I hope I can still get in otherwise its the expensive West Coast University...

I've finally decided! Just paid my enrollment deposit (had trouble submitting my intent to enroll after paying though so I had to call Student Financial Services and they manually did it for me). Can't wait to meet everyone!

I live in LA County so I might hold off moving until 2nd semester if it's true that we'll only have classes once a week for the 1st semester. It will be a long drive though (1h 35m).

I'll try to make a facebook group for our cohort but I will need help managing it (I've never made one before). Are we cohort 21?

What was everyone's TEAS score?
