How many here has applied for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at CSULA?
I hope you will all share the same relief I will have once I receive a notification of acceptance, God willing.
Any of you guys know how they will contact us, whether it be by mail, email or telephone?
If you guys receive any word from the School of Nursing, please share in this thread. =]
Hi everyone,
I was just wondering how this TEAS exam works for CSULA. It says that you need at least 40th percentile. Which section on the TEAS result sheet do I look at? My adjusted Individual Scores were all above 40%. Is that what they want or are they looking at a different category? Help?! I am already feeling overwhelmed.

Yeah, the wording on the criteria sheet is a little tricky. You are required to have 40% or better in all four content areas - for this part, you're looking at your national score. Don't worry about this part so much (as long as you make the cut). You'll actually be awarded points for your Adjusted Individual Total Score, so that's what you should be focusing on. (Example: my national math score was only 63.7%, but my adjusted individual score was 91.1%) And even then, the School of Nursing is only looking at your Reading and English skills. So if you did poorly in those areas, you can always re-take the TEAS and see if you do better.
Hi guys,
Can you tell me what the requirements are for applying to the actual college? (not the nursing) Do I apply as an upper division transfer student or a lower division? It doesn't specify in the website. Any thoughts? Because some cal states want upper division, and some want lower division so I don't want to complete too many and mess myself up. :) Any experience with this?
Hey guys, I'm curious as to what column the nursing school looks under to see the reading and English grades. I know that you need at least a 40th percentile in all the subjects, but I'm confused if I'm suppose look at my adjusted individual score for english/reading or the national score for english/reading.
Hi kosmic2003,
look after my adjusted individual score for reading and english. I took my teas test on Monday and scored 63.5 % overall. I got 75 % in reading and 68 % in english. Based on that, I have 3 points in reading and 2 points in 2 points in english. Overall I have 20/31 for points csula points system. I don't think it's good enough for csula. Im gonna have to retake the teas test next month. Hopefully, i'll score higher in those 2 areas
Hey nbamus,
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm applying to CSULA's nursing program next fall. I just added up my score and it's 20/31 also. I didn't do so well in my teas exam; I got a 75.9%. I took the teas for a community college, and the teas was version 4.0. I'm wondering what version is it at csula? (I've been calling the csula nursing program this whole day, but they haven't been answering -__- ) If it is also 4.0 and since you're planning to take the teas again, i assume csula allows retakes? I really hope I can get in the program, but a 20/31 doesn't seem good enough. I guess we'll never know, miracles can happen. Thanks for any answers. I hope all goes well for you!
If you are applying for fall of 2011, there is a new thread for that.

Does anyone know if all applicants who were able to meet the basic requirements for CSULA RN-BSN program was accepted? Was there a base line point system from that program (separate from non-licensed applicants into the Nursing program)?
For those accepted into the CSULA RN-BSN program last year, how is it going so far?

SNtill:How do you like the nursing school at CSULA? i'm so excited to start! is the orientation the time where we all register for our classes at the sametime..? im kind of confused how the registration works since the orientation is just a day before the actual first day of class.

My cumulative gpa was a 3.9 and my prereq gpa was a 4.0. my ATI score was an overall 86%. But about the grading points. the in progress classes from your very last sem wont be weighted since they will already have chosen the accepted applicants by april. as for micro, it will be part of your gpa because they make it due by march. if you dont turn it in by march, you will not be selected.
