CSU LB not accepting spring 2012 transfers?

U.S.A. California

Hey everyone!

I am applying (hopefully) to Cal State Long Beach this fall for spring 2012 admission!

Problem is, I heard, that they are NOT taking spring transfers. I know this is really early to be questioning this especially since its still early into the year.

So anyone know? I would love to get in this school but I mean if they aren't taking transfers I can always wait until spring to apply, especially since I apply in fall I will have a course in progress, and I am pretty much sure that I won't get in anyway.

Any info from anyone in the nursing program or applying would be greatly appreciated.

BTW I am not a CSULB student, I am attending citrus college. So yes, I would be considered a 'transfer'.

Aw

thanks for the upbeat!

Yes all those schools are good! Are the other ones have the same requirements?

Have you taken the TEAS yet? I am planning it to take it this August after summer school.

Mostly their all the same except SF State wants nutrition and psychology...I'm taking Physio now so I want to finish it first so I can study for the TEAS and devote my full attn. to that. I plan on taking the TEAS in August...If I get into Long Beach I would probably go on my roof and scream at the top of my lungs from pure joy and disbelief lol

Me too especially since they shut down entry level masters, but they are letting 2nd bachelors degree students compete with us

Great even more competition.

Do you know when the CA budget comes out for schools this year?

CSULB will probably take transfer applications, but if the budget comes out before the time in November, when they let people know, things could change. That's what happened a year or so ago. People got interviewed, but then were told they didn't get in because they cut the transfer applicants to the top 25. So people with a 9.33 were getting rejected, while the school was calling previously rejected CSULB students with 8.6's to come interview. We could have our applications in and have already done an interview before any of that kind of garbage begins. Good luck to everyone, wading through the b.s..

Yes that happened in the fall 2011 class. Very sad and unfair.

I have solved that problem by going into CSULB a semester earlier to establish residency. I am trying to get into the school so when I apply I cam legitimately say I am CSULB student so if the budget sucks worse (more than likely) then I will be safe with a high score and as a CSULB student. Because if anyone is getting screwed out of attending universites, its the transfers and I refuse to waste another year due to the state and its issues.
