  1. Haha I should use some of those comebacks whenever someone asks me that question again. Its not that I'm not an intelligent person, I just find the Nursing-Patient relationship a better fit for me than the MD-Patient relationship. Exactly! Some people feel as though Nursing school is not intellectually challenging as Med School, reality is they are both stressful.
  2. If I had a dime for every time I've heard this question, from individuals in and out of the healthcare field. Just because I'm male and a minority doesn't mean I cannot be a nurse. I do not care whether or not I'll be "taking orders" from doctors, at the end of the day its the patient that matters most otherwise I wouldn't be pursuing Nursing. To answer all those questions to " why don't you be a doctor?", my answer is no! I want to be a nurse, not an optometrist, OT, but a Nurse! And yes I've considered the M.D. pathway before and always came back to Nursing. Nursing is my calling, my passion, it runs through my veins..one day I hope and pray that I'll make an excellent nurse.

  4. @ Glenna: Your story gives me so much inspiration/motivation!! I want to help people( otherwise I wouldn't have made it through those darn Science prereqs lol) and I am willing to take the good and the bad to reach my goal. I'll think of Clinicals like one of my track races: Get out, stay the course, and when it feels unbearable remember that I love it.
  5. @ Annachu512: Good luck in your clinicals, you will do an awesome job!! Have faith in yourself!; yes, I will definitely let you know how I do in the Fall
  6. Ok thank you so much! I'm looking forward to the clinical aspect of Nursing school that way all the Anatomy/Physio will come into play; were you nervous before starting clinicals?
  7. I'm applying to an ADN program for Fall 2012 and I just wanted to know from current/past students how is the program as far as clinicals, workload, etc.? Also how did you all adjust to the 1st semester since its a completely different learning experience from the pre-reqs?...Also how are clinicals set up?; sorry for all the questions, I'm just ready to become a nurse! Lol; Any advice will be appreciated!
  8. That makes sense...congrats on your score...I'm in Micro now so hopefully that'll help when I retake it. I'm just going to keep a positive outlook and keep pushing forward.
  9. I'm so disappointed in my score. I took the TEAS 5 and I got a 71% overall, my science score was a 73; my other scores weren't too hot either. I studied for this test and I want to know what I'm possibly doing wrong and how to raise my score. Any help is appreciated!!! *I studied using the McGraw-Hill book
  10. Okay, can you forward me the email...I'll inbox you my Email address
  11. That's too much of a risk...idk what to do
  12. I haven't applied yet...Can you tell me what's up with the app process and everything again lol...can I apply for spring get in and then not go and just wait until the NSG program starts or no?
  13. You'll get in....just score well ok the TEAS and you'll be fine
  14. Same with me, I'll have everything completed by December...@BeachBedHead why do you think your chances aren't good for spring 2012?
  15. Thank you so much! I have A's in everything except 2 English classes and Speech in which I received B's in those 3...I'm taking the TEAS in a week so wish me luck!!!
