CSU Fullerton Fall 2010 applicants?

Published

Hi everyone!

I haven't seen any postings from CSUF EL-MSN Fall 2010 applicants! Are there any of you out there? I received my complete checklist about two weeks ago and was curious if anyone else has heard anything from the school?? Good luck to all of you!!!

I have been reading everyone's statements for the last few months following my letter stating I was put on the alternate list. It does seem like it has been a long time and I am really beginning to wonder just like some of you if I will be accepted. It's nice to know that some people on the alternate list have already been notified of their acceptance. Congratulations! As for the rest of the alternate bunch, I am right there with you. I wish they could at least tell us what position we are on the list and how many people are on the list. I know they said 15 for last year, but like some of you have already stated, it seems like there are more this year. Best of luck to everyone. Hope we all see each other in August.

Hey guys! Just want to update you on what I've been hearing from my schools. Fullerton sent me a letter saying that the program is full and I will have to reapply next year. Long Beach told me that everyone is holding strong, has turned in their paperwork, and my place on the wait list has not moved (so it's not looking promising). I also applied to Saddleback's regular two year RN program just for the heck of it, since I took all my prereq's there. I just got a call today saying I'm off the wait list and in the program!!

It's not the EL-MSN program that I was hoping for, but it's a start at least. I've heard that Cal State Dominguez Hills has a one year nurse practitioner program for people with an RN and a bachelor's, so I'll try looking for programs like that once I finish.

I know this is kind of crappy news for those waiting for Fullerton and Long Beach, but just know that there are other routes to reach the same end result! Best of luck to everyone!

Same here. I just got the email too saying that I need to reapply to Cal State Fullerton. Thanks JeanClaire for that information about Saddleback and Dominguez Hills. I just finished telling my boyfriend that I was thinking of applying to their program now that Fullerton turned me down. How long did you have to wait from the time you applied until the time you found out you were on the wait list?

I wanted to let you guys know that Concordia in Irvine is a private, Christian school and they offer a one year Accelerated BSN and RN program. I think the program costs around 40,000, but it is just one year. Sounds expensive, but just wanted to let you know. Good luck with everything!

I received the same e-mail from Fullerton. I wonder what happened with letting us know up until August 21st? Anyways, I applied to Saddleback and Concordia! I had an interview for Concordia last weekend and hopefully I will hear some good news in the next couple of weeks! Good luck to everyone, hopefully i'll see you in the field someday!

NurseBear08: I applied to Saddleback in February or March when the applications were due (I can't remember but check their website for the deadlines) and I believe they sent letters out the first week in June. I was told at the time that I was place on the "3rd tier" wait list, which didn't sound so good to me so I thought there was no hope. All of a sudden I got a phone call in the middle of July saying they had reached my name on the list!

I also know a couple girls who started the program last fall and got in during the first week of school because people dropped. It's definitely worth it to apply to Saddleback especially since they're changing the acceptance criteria. Having a bachelor degree or experience in the medical field will give you higher priority, since they're actually going to start looking at those things.

Good luck! :)

Do you have to graduate from a prestigious school to have better chances of being accepted into the crna program?

i'll b attending hondros school of nursing, and after my Rn, transferring over to chamberlain to get my bsn. I have only 12 credits from my previous institution before going to hondros, its almost as if im going straight out of high school. So if i want to get into the rn to bsn program at chamberlain, would there be any additional requirement? i mean i'll have my ADN from hondros when im done.

My ultimate goal is to go for crna, do you guys know of anyone that has graduated from chamberlain and got into a crna program?

thank you!!
