Did anyone apply to CSU Bakersfield? I applied for the Spring 2010.

I just got it :] Yes I am applying for Fall 2010 and I am very nervous because I am willing to go anywhere in CA if that means getting into a nursing program. I currently attend East Los Angeles college in Monterey and am trying to transfer in. What about you? I am not a resident so I guess no extra points :[ I saw the scale that you sent me and I am so nervous not there are so many little points here and there but I am not sure if I can get in! I am so worried right now. I do actually have a couple of questions. I was wondering for the articulation agreement with my school it says philosophy 6 or 8 , 6 is critcal thinking and 8 is logic practice. But when I use assist it says 8 I am so confused any thoughts? Also for the chemistry it says organic inorganic or both at my school they have a small combo but it is like a low chem any ideas? You know how your saying that your apply spring 2010 but if you do not make it they take you for fall? How does that work exactly?

I am at a Gavilan community college in Gilroy. Yup, I'm in nor cal. I'm not a resident either. as for the artic agreement, any CSU-GE course from your community college that satisfies the area A-3 critical thinking will be an ok prereq. that's what I think because ALL CSU campuses have the same prereq requriements for the major golden 4 classes: math, english, communications, and critical thinking. you can take philo 8 or any course that satisfies CSU-GE area A-3. take any chem course that is 3+ semester units with lab. they only need 1 chem course whether organic, inorg, combination, etc.

Thanks a lot for the help! I still find it so weird that Spring 2010 applies before fall 2010. Well are you looking into any other schools or just CSUB?

yup. I'm going to apply like crazy all over. I don't want to wait to get in. My #1 school is CSU Bakersfield, #2 is San Francisco State, and #3 is Fresno State. But I'm also applying to some other schools from Humboldt and beyond. and you?

I am going crazy as well trying to see which schools fit best for me, then I thought to myself just go to the school that takes you. I wanted my first choice to be CSU LA but I am not sure that will happen. I am going to apply to every school except one or two I am not sure of. I hear San Fran state is a great school you as well. Not to sure I can get in but a great school. Why did you pick CSUB as your first choice?

because I like their curriculum. it is only 21 months long and it's less than 2 years. if I get in, then I'd be transfering from community college early, only a year and a half, and then i can finish the nursing program in early too makeing my whole college life less than 4 years total. Why you? that's far from LA.

Yes it is very far from LA but because nursing is so impacted I kind of have no choice I will go anywhere I guess, well by the time I apply and if I can get in it will be on time because I graduated in 2008 and I will transfer in 2010 hopefully so I guess the 21 month program will make me early by a few months which is always nice. How close do you live to bakersfield? Do you know how the area is there? I only briefly know it because I pass by when going to Vegas but it has been awhile

did you graduated from high school in 2008? i'm very far from bakersfield because i live in the san francisco bay area(the south). i dont know much about so cal and bakersfield but i really want to get in nursing school w/out waiting any more.

Yes, I did graduate in 2008. I live 2 hours away from Bakersfield. I don't really know what to expect about the school or the area. I was curious about something you said before for people who are applying spring and winter 2010 and they get in does that mean that the people at CSUB will be not only picking fall 2010 students but also spring and winter? Do you know when spring and winter students find out if they made it in?

yes same here, i graduated high school 2008 too. if i get in for spring 2010 but they dont start a spring class, then i might get bumped to the fall 2010 class due to budget cuts. that's to my understanding because it says that in their website. i dont know about those applying to the fall 2010 class though sorry. i sent you another mail with my number on there if you have more ???

Have you been accepted to Spring 2010 yet? I'll love to apply for the Fall 2010. I live 10 minutes way from CSUB. Would love to go there! I already have a B.A. in another field. I don't know how that's going to work? Maybe I don't have to take the upper division GEs? Let me know if you got in the class!
