CSN RN Spring 2013

U.S.A. Nevada

Published

Hello everyone, I'm new to the site and I was wondering if there are any fellow CSN RN Spring '13 hopefuls out there. I just turned in my application today and I would love to get to know some of my potential classmates through this forum :)

I just signed up for the 8am Nurs 285 class. BRIGHT AND EARLY. The class is only 90 dollars which isn't bad if it is something that is necessary. I'm debating on whether or not I should wait to get packet and go to first orientation to decide if I should take this class....

I was going to wait until orientation but I get paranoid that classes will fill up so I always try to register as soon as I'm able to. I had to pay the tuition the same day or else they would have withdrawn me...I've never ran into that problem in my many years as a CSN student. I guess because this isn't a regular semester class...I don't know.

From my past 3 years of experience going to CSN, only one thing is certain... Nothing ever stays the same. There are always things that change. :)

are you in the december class? I signed up for the 12:00 to 2:40 also...so I should l see you!!!

Welcome to our little corner of allnurses!! I'm a pharm tech too! I've been a tech for about 6 years! I don't want to miss out on a learning opportunity and in my (retail) pharmacy dosing calculations are not often complicated. I think I could use the help since I'm bad in math so I will be taking it. Also, from what I've heard, this class teaches you how to do care plans so even if you don't need help with the math, it could help you with care plans.

I had 28 points and I got the good news on Thursday. Probably the best day of my life! Well, see you at orientation! :)

If you log into Angel the toolbox class is there (if you signed up for it), but not available yet. Under the community group section there is a NSNA link. It has discussion boards, extra credit info, etc. Fun browsing information if anyone is interested.

Haha, I just realized now that I didn't really answer your question...maybe that's why I should stay off the internet right after tending to my 4 month old niece in the wee hours of the morning :D

There are 2 toolbox classes, but I'm not sure what topics will be in each one. I suppose we will find that out at orientation. The first one will be 12/7-12/13 and there are 3 different sections, at 8am, 12pm and 4pm and is listed under fall 2012. The second one will be 1/14-1/18, same times and will be listed under spring 2013.

Thanks for the info!! My Angel page says my NSNA role is "member". I wonder if Angel "knows" that I've been accepted to the program so it automatically makes me a member? Or maybe because I registered for the NURS 285 class. Either way, I was planning on joining anyways so I'm glad they took care of that for me! :D

I am signed up for 285 and I see it in Angel but cannot find the NSNA link you are talking about?

My info for community groups is right under my "courses" info on the left side of the page. You may have the community groups info hidden...if so you hover over the grayish bar that says "community groups" and hit the maximize button (little square with a thicker line on top) and the NSNA link should pop up. If you don't have access to the groups you may have to call the help desk, it may need to be enabled. Hope this helps!
