for anyone who has taken or are currently taking this class @ csn. . . nurs 125 pharmacology, would you recommend it as a must "in class" or it can be taken online?
i have no problem taking it online (i actually prefer it) but, if it's like math (where i have to be "in class", to learn it. . . actual instructor discussion/instructing needed)... all i know is that, pharm is about meds and loads of memorization??
opinions, inputs anyone? ..... thanks... kris.

I definitely think this is a personal choice. I have also taken many online classes and for this one I was happy to be in class. First semester is soooo much work and you feel like you never have enough time. Studying for Pharm always seemed to be put last and by being in class for a few hours a week it guaranteed that I was learning during this time. I know many people who took it online and they passed too though. Just know that it isn't like many online classses where you get to sit at home with your textbook to take your tests. You have to go to the testing center, which means no book or notes. If you do take the class in person, don't take it on the same day as lecture. I did and it was horrible. Every test for both classes was on the same day, so I found myself not prepared for one or the other. It made for a stressful few months. Good luck.

I was also trying to figure out what day I should take it. Monday I have lab 8am - 10.50, tuesday i have clinicials 6.45am -12.45pm, thursdays i have lab 1pm - 4pm. thursdays isn't an option. I thought about monday but is it true you have to go to the hospital the day before your clincals??? cause if so then taking pharm on monday wouldn't give me much time so it would either have to be tues after clinicals or wednesday when I don't have any other classes.
Do you have lab or lecture on Monday? It is true that you have to go to your site the day before clinical, however depending on your teacher they may give you your assignment a few days prior so you can go over the weekend. I do know people who took pharm on the same day as clinical. After clinical they spent a few hours studying before going to pharm and they liked it. I always want a shower right after clinical, so this schedule doesn't work for me, but for some it is no big deal. If you want send me a private message and tell me who you're teachers are and I can further offer you advice on which day to take pharm.

I am taking it online, and all I can say is stay on top of your reading, do all of the workbook homework and you will do fine.

i would recommend it. when you are in the hospitals giving and hanging meds you will know what you will be giving. it's a very nice introduction, the more knowledge you have the better off you are... i was a LPN before but had to take the course anyway , and i found it interesting. i did not take it online, but took the course.
we're required to take the class we were just trying to figure out when. I opted to take it tuesday in class.
