I applied for Spring 2010 and was not accepted. My score was 24 but they said they only accepted two students with a score of 24 by lottery and there were 10 applicants with 24 so i just was not one of the lucky ones. ANyways, I finished my microbiology so now my score is 29. I just dropped off my application. Anyone else applying to Fall 2010 and what score/points do you have on the application? Thanks!
I will be transfer student from Washington state with an Associate's degree in Art's and Science. I have completely all the pre-requisites but repeated A&P 3 times, withdrew the first time, D the second time and retaking it next quarter. I know I will get an A, things in life happen especially since I'm supporting myself and my son without help and I am 23 years old. I took Micro and got a C and going to retake it to get a better grade. I have to take A&P2 but I know I can get a good grade now. I took Intro Chem and last grade was a B and took it twice and Organic Chem once and got a 3.6. I have Stat 3.6, and Psych 3 times, last grade 4.0, and Developmental Psych 2 times with a 4.o. I know it's a lot of repeats but I have come so far and I know I have improved. I have a 3.02 right now but I'm trying to still bring my GPA up to a 3.5 and I have been a CNA for 5 years and have a lot of experience. What do you think my chances are? How hard is it to get into this school and what is the application deadlines and when do they admit students? WHat is their repeat policy?
I think you are doing great! way to stick to your guns.. It seems you have enough points but I belive you also have to take the TESA. Have you been to a Health Program Orientation yet? Its an hour long and offered a few times a month through out the year..are you in LV now or still in WA?
cheers

Thank you so much Rodmoser, I'm in WA, but the first chance I get I'm so going to move to LV! I just don't know about the repeat thing? All LV schools state that you can only retake A&P two times. I got a W the first time and a D the second time. I have some life circumstances that prevented me from getting a great grade, but I know that is no excuse. I know and it's proven that I can do well, a 3.6 in Organic Chem the first try and 3.6 in Statistics. I know I can do good and 3.8 in English 102. I know I can do good but there are just a lot of struggles and bumps during my life in the process of getting and accomplishing what I want to achieve. I want to know if the W counts as one of the times that A&P is taken and if so, I guess I cannot apply to any LV programs because I have a letter D grade on my second attempt and again the first attempt I dropped the class. I'm retaking the class this spring quarter and I know I will get nothing less than an A! So do they count the W's as a time the A&P is taken or not? Anyone know this information. It takes really long to get in touch with someone! THank you, I'm over excited about the fact that most of the programs are 16 months and in LV, I would be so happy! And to anyone that replies to me, thank you for your time and help! Youre a real blessing and life saver!:yeah:

May I butt in with a pre-requisite related question? (I know this thread is really about waiting for fall acceptance)
I am moving to LV this summer and will be registering for some fall 2010 classes at CSN via web registration before I actually move there. The registration dates are up but the schedule of classes is not yet up. Does anyone know when they will be releasing that information? (just trying to plan first, second, third choice times and locations for my classes)
Thanks!
I really cant remember when the summer schedule actually becomes available as this will be the first summer it is only online. Every other summer schedule has been in print and online. Plus school fries my brain! Lol!!
Usually mid April for sure since classes start the first week of June. Sorry I can't be more of a help.
Thanks - yeah I am just getting antsy. I know no matter how late it comes out I will have plenty of time b/c I will be registering as a new student so I don't get priority registration. It will only take about an hour to come up with all of the workable permutations of a schedule.
Anyone know whether the pilot program (mentioned on the CSN site) for testing out of old (older than 7 yrs) prerequisites is still going on? I am currently retaking A&P through Clovis CC, but everything else is old. Just wondering if I will have to retake freshman Biology and Microbiology (and I cannot remember now if a Chemistry less than 7 yrs old is required as well but I am going to try to register for Organic Chem so I would hope that would count).
You can start registering for Fall classes on May 4th. This is for new students to CSN. Try calling the registrar if you need to find out more info (702) 651-5610. About the pilot program, I don't think they're doing that anymore. You would need to re-take any classes over 7 years old. The pre-req's required are: Biology 189, 223, 224, 251 ; Math 100B OR 120 or higher excluding 122/123 ; Psychology 101 ; Sociology 101 ; Communications 101 or 215 ; English 101 ; U.S. & Nevada Constitution (Political Science). Hope this helps...
