Crocs Brand Shoes

I did a search on Crocs to see if this has already been discussed and I merely received a message saying I'd need to wait 20 seconds to try again, so I assume not.

I just bought my first pair of Crocs shoes yesterday, will try them out tomorrow. Anyone have any experience with this brand of shoes? Are they as great as I hear?

I liked lots of the sales points about the shoes but I wonder if it is actually true or not. My sis swears by them but after looking at them they look like cheap plastic, yet the few folks I have talked to about them have absolutely nothing bad to say.

Any personal experiences with this brand of shoe?

I am sooo glad I wasn't the only one...lol.... I was kind of short changed in the grace department anyway and these shoes made me feel like Chevy Chase or some other slapstick comedian. I'd be walking along, in what I thought was a respectable amount of decorum, and one of my feet would make a screeching halt, thrusting the top half of my body forward. My co-workers seem to find great humor in this....half the time I think they keep me around to entertain them....

Heh... after reading so many people write of these results I went a little overboard and likely looked like I was marching to a drummer the last two days.

As uncoordinated as I am, I didn't have this particular problem.

One of our docs just started wearing them and he swears by them. I haven't tried them yet, I just bought a pair of Birkenstocks a few weeks ago and it is the first pair I have been able to wear for 12 hours without having to change shoes or have my feet and legs ache for hours!

These shoes hurt! The first day I thought I was in heaven, no pain, no sore feet/ankles/legs. Day #2 and it was ... owchie. Day #3 I was dying, and it got worse from there.

Today is Sunday, I was off yesterday and today and my heels still hurt. If I am sitting for a long time and then go to walk I look like a little old lady.

Tell me it gets better? They aren't worn in yet, right??

I have this issue with the shoes, too.........although I can trip over smoke:chuckle Doesn't stop me from wearing 'em, I just have to be more careful about picking up my feet.

I just love it when one shoe stops, and the rest of me continues in the original direction at the original speed.

They aren't a "wear them in" kind of shoe. Sounds like they just aren't compatible with your body/leg/feet type. I know I wish shoes weren't such an individual thing... so much $$ to spend to find out that what so many people love is painful!

In my instance they were a "wear them in" kind of shoe. It took about 3 shifts to really mold to my instep or whatever.

I do have a high instep and rather wide foot so maybe that accounts for the difference with me.

Now they are great...I did have one day last week when my feet hurt inexplicably but I was "coming down with" a URI at the time and everything hurt!

Hi everyone,

I'm not even a nursing student yet....but I work on a cruise ship right now and am on my feet for 12+hours on a regular basis.

I have a pair of Crocs for my uniform (think Gopher on the Love Boat) with no holes....my only complaint with them is that their white is not very white...they call it Pearly White, I call it very light grey.

I also have a pair for wearing with my personal clothes...these are bright yellow and have all the standard holes. I have huge feet so they are a bit on the Mickey Mouse/Ronald McDonald side and they get lots of notice ....but I love them all the same.

I am a former devout birk wearer....Crocs changed me over though. I never thought I'd find shoes more comfortable than birks, but Crocs are for me.

I am a complete klutz (I always explain to folks to not be concerned....I'm constantly almost falling....which is an improvemant....the first 15 or so years of my life, I always fell!! So, I have lots of practice  ) So, especially when I'm tired, I do have to be careful about picking up my feet. When they say non-skid they mean even the toes :)

Peace,

Cathie

I have both Crocs and Birkenstocks. I have to say I like both, BUT - with the Birkenstocks my feet actually feel GOOD after a 12 hour shift. The Crocs are not padded enough for me but they are doable for 12 hours. I just got a pair of Danskos - need to break them in before for a 12 hour shift :)

I *just* sent my PayPal payment for an eBay purchase of Women's ASICS Gel Tennis Shoes. I found a "walking" forum on About.com and everyone seems to be suggesting this brand. We'll see what they do.

Anyone ever tried them???

I'm getting too old for running 12 hours a day. :uhoh21:

Okay, I have ordered a pair of Asics Gel shoes and Birkenstocks. If these don't work I am just plain OLD! Gahhhhh....

Curious, let's say you are working in those cute crocs with the holes in the top and you drop a needle bam and (my luck) it would end up right in my foot. I am thinking I would be liable for my own injury by not wearing shoes that protect my feet. I would like to get some but just thinking about needle sticks in my feet freak me out.:crying2:
