Hello every1,
I am going to take CRNE in October 2010. I need your tips and suggestions. I am registered with CARNA (Alberta board of Nursing) but going to take my exam in Toronto. I guess CRNE is standardized exam and is same all over Canada. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thank you
reading doesnt help
only doing practice questions helps and taking notes
read the wording, know how to summarize the question, know whats the question is asking
enhance your speed
and know the basic patho and A&A, and use ur judge, judge, judge, judge
dont get confused with the practice books cuz a lot of (both mosby and linpcott) their answers are wrong, believe in urself, believe u have reason to choose the right answer
sometimes u really have to slow down to read the questions over and over again
sometimes u know the answer u just pick it right away without reading the other 3 choices because they will only confuse you and they confuse you with knowledge u would never be able to cover(too many details u wont be able to remember them all)
so its all judgements
Well the exam is over, and if -as Eminem says- we only got one chance to 'blow', then perhaps I blew it
I am just curious how other found the test...whether it seemed more or less difficult than the practice tests. Also, I'm curious if anyone has an idea of what the passing percentage might be for this test. From reading previous posts I've heard that it ranges from 59%-68% depending on the difficulty of the test. I'm hoping they don't rate this one as an 'easy' test (ie by making the passing grade 68% or higher).
One comment I would like to make is that although the Moseby study guide was ok, the sample questions do not reflect the CRNE test. I wish I had known that earlier.
I hope everyone else is as glad as I am that this is over....now we just have to cross our thumbs and wait!

i find it to be less difficult than the practice test like the mosby book...but its the psychsocial questions that get me...and i'm not too sure how to feel about that because its all about how you interpret the question/answers and its ALWAYS tricky. Any thoughts about this exam??? I agree...i hope the passing grade isn't too high...i'm slightly worried.

make sure that CRNNS makes you eligible to sit in another province i.e indicate to them you wish to do so. You will also need photo ID
