Hi there! I'm writing the CRNE tomorrow and wanted to start this thread to get some chatter going to support each other. Anyone else writing tomorrow?
I'm nervous....somewhat! It's kind of a strange feeling actually. If I really let myself think about it, it frightens me to death, but then other times I'm completely calm. KWIM?? Anyone else going through these mix of emotions?
Anyway, I have to go get ready since I have to drive an hour and half out of town to write, and we're actually spending the night tonight.
Good luck to you all!
I am in Alberta,Canada with my spouse. I HAVE BEEN IN NURSING ALL OF MY LIFE. I have my nursing license in six different states, but applied to Alberta. It seems it may take forever. You are luckly! One of the states I hold my license in is Washington state. I have researched it already. The hospitals pay around 46.00 u.s. an hour in Washington state.Tell me is the Canadian exam difficult?. The U.S. one is very easy! It's completely different. Here it 's all psychosocial. In the U.S. it's Tx,, Dx's etc. I 'm worried that it will be difficult to pass. I'm probably old enough to be your mom. My oldest is 32 years old. I also have a daughter in nursing in Ontario,Canada. I wrote R.P.N. EXAM AT 21 YEARS OLD .I let that license go to boring for me . I went to school in the U.S. because a U.S. hospital payed for it.I've been an R.N six years. While waiting for Alberta paperwork I will probably work in either Montana or Washington state. The fact that I'm dual makes it easier for me. After all when you have six kids you have to put to college. YA have to work where ever you can! My mom once adviced me not to have such a large family ,now I know why lol! YOUR ALWAYS BROKE! LOL
P.S. please do excuse my typing as computers and all are new to me. Thank-you all for your help. I'm learning something new on this site every day!
Hi Everyone,
Praise be to God! I passed the exam. I was worried as I am an IEN and I was thinking that I made a lot of mistakes when I went back to my books after the exam. I am so happy that I passed. It would not have been possible without the grace of God. I am just very thankful to Him. He has provided me with the strength and the endurance and I studied very hard as the Canadian RN exam is different, specifically on Ethics and Nursing judgment. The Compendium has helped me a lot and the prep guide, 3rd and 4th editions. Thank you for this thread. Btw, I am from Southwestern Ontario. I have not seen yet the results but my daughter just read it to me over the phone during my lunch break.
do you mind sharing how did you prepare to re-write the exam? what worked/ not worked? Thanks.
ya sure, the first two times i were study from the prep guide and from the mosbys comprehensive review of CRNE ,but in the third time i took many courses as medical surgical ,pharmacology ,community and nursing in ontario course which was very helpful ++++++ the lippincott CRNE prep guide was also an excellent source of data ,+ Mosbys CRNE prep guide which also was a good one + the compendium and the most important thing was my familys' supplication and my faith in GOD that he were with me and helping me in that exam ..i hope that will help and if you need more you can ask ...
NB. from my experience ,don't rush your self and wait untill you feel that you are ready.
Congratulations to all of the new Canadian Registered Nurses! I received my results of the CRNE in the mail today and I passed :nuke: Good-luck to everyone awaiting their results! Just an FYI I am from London Ontario. I know many of my classmates across the province continue to wait for their results, should definitely be this week!
Hi Sedo,
What worked for me was consistency, diligence and positive thinking. I said to myself that I have to pass this exam. I studied, worked and took care of my family. I studied the rationale for each question over and over again and went back to my books or online for unfamiliar diseases. I hope this helps. Most of all, pray.
