World Canada CRNE

Published

Hi everyone, Im an Irish nurse preparing for the CRNEs for February 2012 in Toronto. Didnt see any thread for this exam in February, so thought id start one. How is everyone preparing? Im using the CRNE prep guide doing Qs and studying the competencies. Any tips/advice? Happy studying!!

Hi guys,

I am an IEN, passed CRNE in October, my advice would be to thoroughly revise the questions in the Canadian prep guide, i found that to be extremely helpful. I tried Mosby and Lippincott but found it to bee too NCLEX ( i have taken NCLEX before).

hey all,

Let's email each other instead of typing in here.

Here's my email [email protected] and I found Matt's email in here- [email protected]

I'm ready to meet any time and toronto reference library would be great!

cheers,

crnefeb

hey PiRN,

No, Toronto Reference Library is at the Youge and Bloor Subway Station. You have to get off at the Yonge and Bloor Subway and walk outside the subway for about two blocks. It's a huge library and you won't miss it!!!

cheers,

are you creating or becoming part of a study group?

are you still thinking of joining a study group?

You can't take the Toronto School of Health to court over your negative experience because they have disclaimers all over their site saying that they do not guarantee anything. There have been numerous posts about their shady activity over the last two years. I personally have done several hours of research on them and posted all of my findings in several other threads. They are not accountable and are not ethical. Their primary raison d'etre is to separate desperate people from their money and judging from the posts here and on the October 5 thread, they're VERY successful at that! I would say that the posts from people who used their "service" and failed are running about 10 to 1 against the ones who passed.

If you can find a review course that is affiliated with a legitimate, recognized and accredited educational facility, by all means give them your cash. In the course of my research, the Toronto School of Nursing certainly appeared to be on the up-and-up. As with everything, let the buyer beware. Use those critical thinking skills we all need to be good nurses and consider all the facts before jumping in with both feet. you have too much invested in your education to waste your time on something that seemed too good to be true. Read the fine print. Read it out loud if you have to, but make sure you know what you're getting into!

would you recommend toronto school of nursing? or say its legit?

Like she said you need to use your critical thinking skills. Who's teaching the course? If you're writing a nursing registration examination, it would probably be a good idea for your instructor to be a Registered Nurse with a background in education. A lot of the courses out there are being taught by people who just want to make a buck. I took a course that wasn't taught by a nurse, which was probably not a good idea and really relied on it. I know a few people who have taken courses with them, and they say all of the instructors are Registered Nurses who are experienced. I would phone them if I were you and ask the questions. You also have to study on your own if you ask me. You can't rely on any course to teach you everything. Nursing is very comprehensive and I think people rush to take the examination sometimes when they aren't ready. From my research now, it seems courses being taught by the Toronto School of Nursing, Primed educational associates, and the George Brown College prep are all taught by nurses with backgrounds in education.

No, You stop at the Yonge and Bloor station, then go out to the Yonge Street going North passing one intersection on the right side.
