CRNA school question...?

I am a recent RN grad and have my mind set on going to CRNA school. My husband is also a recent RN grad and has his mind set on CRNA school. We are currently working on our bachelors and thinking about what CRNA schools we would like to apply for. Does anyone know if a husband and wife can go to the same CRNA program???

If so, what specific programs allow it?

Very cool that the two of you have similar career ambitions! I know I went to an information meeting last year for the school in my area that has a CRNA program. I happen to remember that there was a couple there who were also interested in attending the program at the same time. For this particular school, it did not seem to be a problem. However, since enough clinical sites could not be found locally, it required rotating to different sites, some of which that were out of state. This was a concern for the young couple as they wanted to stay at the sames sites so they would not have to be apart. This was something that the director could not guarantee them. In fact, he said it would be unlikely.

I don't see any reason for you not to be able to attend same program

I just started the CRNA program at Westminster and there is a married couple in my class. We are just in the didactic portion right now so we are all taking classes together, but when we rotate to clinical sites next year they may not be able to go to the same sites at the same time. In fact, many sites only have 1 student at a time, so it would be impossible for them to have all their clinical sites together. However, at least they get to go to the same school and have a lot of things together, so it could be worse.

Thanks for the info! Do you like Westminster's program? I use to live right by the school, and have a friend in the NP program there. I am considering it as a possible school to apply to. Especially with the news you gave me. :)

Should not be an issue at any program.
