Hi, I have been deciding whether to go back to school for CRNA. However, I wanted to know if CRNAs are always going to be confined to the operating room and ICU. It seems like theres not much areas they can work? Any CRNAs out there who can clarify this for me?

Where else would you have one who administers anesthesia work?

I've never known a CRNA to work in the ICU.
I haven't either but I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe a little something pushed for a line insertion? Not that that would require a CRNA...
If you don't want to work in the OR, then you may want to go a different route.

Some CRNAs work in dental offices administering anesthesia, outpatient GI, Endo, etc.
