Hello, I’m also in the process of applying to Barry’s program for the May 2020 cohort. I’ve been out of school for over 10 years so I’m in the process of taking advanced patho and advanced pharm. Also, I’m taking the GRE in June. My goal is to have my application submitted by August. My gpa is not that great..3.2 overall, CCRN, ACLS, PALS, NRP, 15 years in NICU, 4 years in PICU.
Hey JKRenee,
That's awesome. with the amount of experience you have I think that will be okay. why are you taking 2 sciences. school only requires one ?
I am taking my GRE soon and I am so nervous. I am such a procrastinator and I don't even know if I studied enough for it.

I'm in the May 2019 class. Get your application in early! Don't wait till August. They'll interview people who don't have everything in yet.

I just submitted my application!
GPA: 3.62
GRE:292 (I tried so hard on this test and it just hates me)
1.8 Years of PICU and will have 1 year MSICU by start.
Taking CCRN in July
How heavily do they weigh the GRE? also @MHARNP did they interview you without everything in? I don't have my CCRN in yet but would they still interview me? I am so motivated to get into school and praying I can get an interview!
I also just inquired about the pre-anesthesia class cause its been 6 years since I took Chem! Does that class look good to them?
@MHARNP, I plan to apply this weekend. I just have to write my paper. When do you submit your application ?

I don't remember the exact date that I submitted my application. It was sometime late April to mid-May if I remember correctly. The sooner you submit the better! After you submit, then you have to send all the copies of your certificates, GRE score, etc. They'll email you with the email address to send them into them. I was interviewed and accepted pending the chem class. So, yes, you can submit without everything. And, yes, they may choose to interview you without everything already submitted. I've heard from others that they were accepted pending PALS, GRE scores, etc. If you haven't completed something yet, you might want to work it into your statement that you're working on it.
The pre-anesthesia class worked great for me. I had already taken organic chemistry, so it was an easy review. It's expensive, but I didn't lose time at work because of it. With the local alternatives, I would have cut down on my hours working and thus would probably have spent as much if not more money. It's also great because I got to experience their software package. It made it an easy adjustment to classes this semester.
As for GRE scores, I think they want a score of 155 on the quant section. I believe there are a few who got in with a lower score but they had other strong points.
I haven’t taken the GRE yet (I’ll be taking it in July) and adv. Patho class doesn’t end until late July. I was nervous about applying without these things complete, it now I’m thinking I should go ahead and apply.

I decided to take a graduate level course bc I’ve been out of school for over 10 years and I wanted to have a recent science class on my transcript.
I JUST GOT A CALL FOR AN INTERVIEW in JULY!!! IM SO EXCITED

Didn't you just submit your application on Sunday? That was quick! I still have to take the GRE and my patho class doesn't end until late july but I'm thinking I should go ahead and submit my application.
