Call them TODAY and be up front and honest, asking how this will affect ur application. I was told thru immigration & the police where I am that the WORSE thing you can do is lie re these things or play it down. Be honest and they will appreciate it.

I wish you luck however in the future, and if nursing is ur ultimate dream go for it. Otherwise, you can always do something else - it's not the end of the world not to get into nursing.

I am a Michigan RN with a criminal background. You can go to school, get your license..getting a job with background checks the way they are, I feel I will never again Practice as a RN in the state of Michigan. I have applied and applied, for the past 7 months.... saying Yes to a conviction does not get your a interview.. I was told by one employer I am tooooo much of a Insurance risk to hire.... I did apply with the Florida board of nursing while I was going through this process, I was granted a Florida license, but again with the back ground checks in every state I doubt if I'll ever practice.. My crime was a non violent no drug conviction.

If you can get an expungement, that would solve the issue...any chance of this?

In NY so many people have faced the same issue that it is becoming more common to present a letter of rehabilitation.....I do not see why the past has to affect your new future...more importantly a chance to start fresh....good luck....
