I have been an LPN for 15 years. I got my PN diploma at TTCA in Athens TN.
I worked as an LPN in TN for a 3 years, then moved to the Chicagoland area, got my IL LPN license through endorsement, and have worked steadily as an LPN in IL ever since.
For years I have longed to go back for my ADN, and I finally got that chance when I moved to Southern IL.
I enrolled in my (remaining) ADN prerequisite classes at JALC in Carterville IL- which is designed for LPNs to become RNs and found out yesterday that my PN credits will not transfer because TTCA is accredited by The Council for Occupational Education and JALC is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and evidently they are not compatible.
I checked the other colleges in the area- Shawnee Community and SIC, and both programs are also designed the same way-
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Like everyone else, I simply do not have the time and money to repeat my PN courses in order to join their RN program.
I'm going to contact the ADN Program Director and see if there is any way they will let me in.
I can't believe that I'm the only person this has happened to, so if you have any experience and advice, I would be grateful. I don't want to give up on my dream.
Thanks.

You're not the only person this has happened to, and that's why so many of us here caution students all the time to be careful about the accreditation of schools they are thinking of attending. It's not enough to just ask is a school "accredited" and get the answer, "yes." There are a variety of accrediting organizations (some v. respectable and some just invented for some types of schools to be able to say they're accredited and not be lying), and, because they have v. different standards, schools accredited by one organization often will not accept the credits from a school accredited by an organization with lower standards. I'm sorry you got stuck in this situation, but I would not count on the school you want to attend now making an exception in your case. If you ask around further, you may be able to find another ADN program that will take your credits. I hope you'll be able to find a good outcome for your situation. Best wishes!

Many of us attended LPN/LVN programs and earned credits that did not transfer due to accreditation variances. While the credits earned at many PN/VN programs do not transfer, most LPN-to-RN bridge programs grant advanced placement and/or en bloc credit for the simple act of possessing an active LPN license.
I am sorry you did not realize this sooner.

Many of us have credits that done "transfer". However many schools offer you "credits" for possessing an LPN license that is in good standing.

THIS.
I had college credits and an associates degree when I went back to school for my BSN; if I didn't have any, I would've had to start all over again; my PN program didn't have the pre-req's required to be prepared for an ADN/BSN program.

Nearly ALL nursing programs only grant credit for your License not for individual classes or courses. PN doesn't have the same pre-reqs as an ADN or BSN program, so PN anatomy won't transfer, you'll have to take the 'real' a&P and any other pre-reqs associated with the degree - it's the same with ADN to BSN, they grant credit for your LICENSE, but at least with ADN you'll have some of the official pre-reqs.
