Is there a "certain or particular" CPR course that u need for nursing school? I went inline to Red Cross to register & it asked for lay responders, professional responders, etc. my schools handbook just says "heart saver CPR certification". My class is tomorrow & I don't want to get certified then find out It wasn't the correct one.
That's a good idea! I almost spent 110 to take mine, but didn't even think to check the local hospital.
I didn't either at first. I thought it was for employees only, but it's open to the public too. I know, I paid $110 to the Red Cross then cancelled the night before after finding out its not the class I need and only got $55 back.
Mandy,
It's very possible that you could take a Heartsaver class and still not have met your institution's requirements. I would recommend anyone that is in your shoes to clarify with the administration whether you need a healthcare provider CPR class or a layperson CPR class. In nursing school, I would lean more towards the healthcare provider class.
I hope this is helpful,
