  1. If this is true, it seems sloppy to me that a physician would somehow not know what they were signing too. If they're signing an automated form, I would think they should be very familiar to it to prevent instances such as this.
  2. I am strongly considering this too, but as ebailey1218 suggests, I'm going to wait until the first week of classes or so and see how manageable it is to just bring the texts along, or if that will even be necessary.
  3. Me too! I think mine is by BlackHawk though. I plan to trade off between my huge leather Banana Republic tote, my VeraBradley tote, and the pack. The whole rolling bag thing is definitely NOT for me!!!
  4. wow, that last one's a doozy... thanks for this, it's a good list of what NOT to do for us newbs!!
  5. This whole discussion is interesting and enlightening. I'd just like to share that as a Vet Tech I draw with 22 and 25g needles regularly when taking blood from cats and kittens (TEENY veins!!) and as you say, you have to be gentle, and it takes some technique, but it is VERY much possible to get a usable/reliable sample even from those bitty veins, via catheters as well. Could one not flush the line after with heparinized saline to preserve patency? As an almost-nursing-student I'm unsure if this is how things work in the human world, but it makes sense to me... This change from LVT to nurse is going to be an interesting transition for me!
  6. Same! Thanks for being so generous and insightful! My accelerated program starts 9/3 and I'm so excited to start!
  7. OCRN63 I see that my post upset you; let me try to explain my viewpoint a bit. To me, your "smartness" or intelligence should be demonstrated by your capabilities, not whether you wear glasses... real or fake... or by any other physical characteristic. This apparently is more of a tender spot for me than I realized, as I had a rather strong reaction to the OP, which is pretty unusual for me All my life I have been judged by the fact that I am blonde -- not dyed blonde, REAL blonde, which in many people's minds makes me automatically (a) dumb/flighty/space cadet or (b) successful because of my looks. Yes, really. Instead of dying my hair brown (for example) to try to influence someone's first impression of me, I have chosen to just OWN who I am and hope that when people get to know me they will see me as the intelligent, successful, skilled individual that I am. The idea of someone intentionally wearing fake glasses BECAUSE PEOPLE THINK HE'S SMARTER with them on bothers me, and yes I think it's a stupid thing to do. That being said, I would not treat someone wearing fake glasses, or nails, or dyed hair any differently... what you choose to do is your business, not mine, and and at the end of the day, as long as you do your job well and are a nice person do and wear what you like.
  8. Fantastic! See you on FB at22mash!!
  9. I'll be relying heavily on Vera this year as well
  10. Fake braces are all the rage in Japan... don't believe me? look it up!! As someone who can't see without her glasses or contacts, this whole idea is just ludicrous. Wear eye protection when you need it, lose the fake glasses if they are truly fake; you might "look" smart, but when people find out they're fake they'll just think you're DUMB.
  11. Kettlebells are great! We use them at CrossFit a lot :)
  12. Thanks this is a nice combination! And, everything but the Feta is Paleo so I can actually eat this I would love a vitamix... maybe someday!
  13. I got off the waitlist July 10th -- very pleased, but also feeling a bit panicked about getting everything done!! I HATE being or feeling unprepared... I think there is a possibility of being accepted off the waitlist all the way into the end of August!! I would suggest making sure your MMR and Tetorifice are up to date and that you get a physical done :) Good luck!
  14. I am soo picky about this: college ruled ONLY, white legal pads ONLY ... I HATE loose-leaf and can't stand the rings on spirals, so there you go. :)
  15. I doubt most people have any idea how hard it is to get into nursing school... also I don't know what type of program you got into, but "nursing school" is a broad term covering everything from LPN associates program to an accelerated bsn... Hopefully your motivation is not too based on how others feel about you going to school/getting in to school!!
