i am sure we all have so many questions, whenever i think of something i send them an email... i do not post on epn because i feel everyone is giving their "opinions" and sometimes the faculty doesn't correct them.... so i will list some of the questions that i sent to them, hope everyone do the same... we will pass cpne!!!!!!!!!!!
response...
it doesn't matter.
i like to take them off.
as long as the dressing stays in place you are good to go.

I know we allhave a ton of questions. I do post here and on epn. For the wound i do know you can leave them on or take them off once you are to that point. I like to keep mine on. Sheris has taught me a lot. Next question i come upwith ill post here... Trust me it wont be long! Ha
i usually have an answer within couple hours, compare to the epn (my opinion of course) all those students are telling what "they think" i need to know the right way...

yeah but it all depends on which staff member you talked to.... i feel like sometimes i get four different answers from excelsior faculty.
You know I should have written down all the questions I was throwing out today. I can't remember half of them now!

Hey people, out of topic here, could someone please give me mnemonics for Lab sims IM/SQ station. Coz mine has recap and i read on facebook that someone failed coz of recapping... thanks
The whole recapping thing gives me ogeda. I don't have any lab sim mneumonics... but as far as recapping they can't fail you for that unless you do it wrong or maybe they were giving a med during a PCS and recapped. From what I have been told it depends on the site what you will be drawing your meds up with... some places have the airless adapter in which case you would draw with a needleless for IM and then attach appropriate needle, while I guess others don't and you would inject air and draw up with the needle, so recapping would be needed....
Hey Beachnurse, this is rose from FB :) was i am actually using the Robs mnemonics for the IM/SQ, and when i read a post earlier on i guess.... i started second guessing my self... :) i guess it is last minute panic...
Hey! OMG the big weekend starts tomorrow for you, right?? Will keep you in my prayers this weekend :-)
I had been doing labs just like Rob too, saw something on EPN about recapping, it gave me a coronary and I wigged about it so I have been practicing all ways incase I do end up recapping. I asked about how Rob does when he says you ask the examiner to hold the insulin syringe for you while you put the gloves on, got three different answers, so I figure what's the worst they can say, they're already holding it LOL... don't know what I am going to do yet, but there is nothing wrong w/recapping during the lab sims according to EC, Sheri and Rob :-)
GOOD LUCK ROSE!!!!! :-)
i think like you said beachie, ask them if they can hold it... don't take any chances. :)
I thought you could only recap during the lab sims??
