CPNE-my final attempt

Nursing Students Excelsior

I took the test the first time and failed one year ago today. I took it again, failed(very subjective), and now I am going to start from scratch to pass this test. I am ready to begin, l know all that is stopping me from being an RN is a weekend of testing.(ok, a very hard weekend of testing,) ..I am wondering if there are others in my shoes, retesting? Is there anyone out there who passed after retesting, where you tested and the difference of passing and failing. Any advise is helpful. Thank you very much!!!

Sorry to hear of your past experience, but glad to hear you are going into this with a positive mindset. I have not taken the CPNE yet, and will be FCCA bound next month. I was wondering if you had done any in person workshops to prepare? If so, which one and did you feel it helped? I am going to sherri Taylor's in Atlanta sep 14-16th. Best of luck and will be praying and cheering you on this journey. You can do this and as the saying goes, there's a reason for everything and this may now be your time to shine!!! I'm sure we ALL have/had our moments of not succeeding at something we so want. The first and important step is to acknowledge it, accept it, then move on and try again! Good luck and keep us posted!!!!

I took Chancellors, they were wonderful! It was a hands on site. I am going to take Sherri's online program. I think I more concerned with the careplans, especially since the changes from the 17th edition. I thought the FCCA was rather simple, hogh I don't know what its like since it went to computers. I am sure yu will be great. Sherri is wonderful too!!!

Hello!!!

First of all I wanted to say what a GREAT attitude you to start the ball rolling again! Looking back on it, all think most of us EC grads would agree the CPNE was the largest mountain for us to climb in reaching our RN, but for me it was well worth the trip!! HANG IN THERE. Use your past two experiences to your advantage, review everything that happened and formulate new strategies for things that went wrong. During my first PCS, nothing was going right or as planned, always stay on task and don't let fear take you. I think doing Sherri's program is an awesome way to start. Were both of your CPNE's under the 17th edition? I tested under the weekend launch of 18th, and it really wasn't bad. Do you have a weekend scheduled yet?

anjule....if u are concerned about care plan...well so am i...

anyway...ec has care plan conference

@ Loops, so happy for everyone who passed! I feel better than I did last year. I get my first time failing, my second no. I know the test is subjective. But in order to do a skills lab test, the supplies are to readily available which I didn't have. Well I know to check everything before the clock ticks. Lesson learned though it's an expensive lesson. I'm ready to finish:)@ineverseeyou, I will be doing that as well. I will pass it this time, and you will pass too!

I am also in the same boat, my 3rd & final test is Oct in Albany NY. I do know of 1 person passing on the 2nd attempt, so it is possible. I have signed up for the workshop & have ordered all the study guides to help sort the various places Sherri Taylor seems to help.
