Hi! The last document of mine for the CPNE was accepted on 3/18/08. I put myself as wanting to be contacted in the case of a cancellation (2 weeks).
I'm wondering what other people have experienced in this situation. How much sooner might I get a test weekend? When should I do a workshop? Should I be calling and checking for cancellations?
Also, I'm taking the Religions of the World exam next Saturday. I've done well on all of my other exams, but I'm nervous about this one because it's extended response. Can someone give me a tip or at least reassure me?
:nurse:I got my LPN license in July '07 and it took me almost three months after I enrolled in Excelsior(September) to take my first exam. I didn't study for three months...I was scared I couldn't do it! After that exam I went FULL FORCE! In January I took three tests in one week! And now here I am.
Thank you so much. I'm just too excited! (And Im super proud of everyone who is doing this program...it takes motivation and shows initiative)

If I'm not mistaken, you have to be assigned your initial date before you can get a cancellation date. Most RPACs are taking about 5 months to assign a date. Which region did you apply to?

Lunah, I told them I would test on one day's notice and was called less than 3 months after my application was accepted, prior to getting the initial date.
Hmmm ... it must depend on who you talk to when you call, then. But Sue, I know you applied to NPAC and they are MUCH faster at assigning dates to begin with!! :)
This is true. I'm lucky to be able to drive to 4 test sites, let alone 2 more a little further away. I'm two hours north of Albany.
I don't remember calling anyone. I think I said on the app I'd take a cancellation. But I'm not sure.
No, I just meant I've been told when I called that before a student could get a cancellation date, he/she had to have an original date. But I don't think that's always the case, from what I've heard from students! :)
Even though I live in Georgia, I applied to test up north.
You'll probably get a date within just a few months, then! :) Fabulous!

Here's the deal with the CPNE. EC will tell you that you need to have an official date when you apply and request a cancel date. This is not true at all. That may be their policy but when the time comes and they need to fill a spot, they will call anyone. I applied at the end of May '07. Recieved my letter saying that I will test in december '07. So I e-mailed all the centers and I was told that I had to ahve a date first. I was impatient and called the northern region to confirm, told the same thing...gotta wait for a date. In early July I got a call to test that weekend at the beggining of July. Took the date and passed. So here's the thing...keep on them every two weeks or so and be ready at a moments notice. I was an LPN and did almost all of an ADN program and walked in there passed everything first try and was home on sunday morning in time for lunch. Hope this helps. PM with any questions...Ill be more than happy to help.
Good Luck!

I received a cancellation date before I received a " date" for CPNE. I actually got a call April 1st. I listened to the message 3 times before I decided to call back and see who my husband got to place the call. Boy was I shocked when I realized the call was legit!!!!! Now I just have to pray that I pass. I feel ready, but you never know what your nerves will do to you. Any advise on counting the drip rates for gravity flow? The math part I've got, I'm just afraid that by the time I time the drip, well, timed element will be up. I would take the first opportunity to test just to get it over with before the nerves get any worse. Good Luck!:wink2:
