Cox College FNP

Nursing Students NP Students

Hey everyone! I was interested in the FNP program at Cox College in Missouri and I'm a little worried. Not sure what to expect. For my Nursing school my GPA was 3.1, but my prerequisites GPA was 3.71. So they should a great about 3.4 GPA. What can I expect from the school? Any previous or current students shed any light on what they like or dislike about the program? Any information will be appreciated.

I am applying for the fall 2017 start at Cox. How are you liking it so far? How many people get accepted into the program?

I love it so far. Lots of reading. But one thing is for sure, that I am learning so much. I think they accept about 25 people.

I'm so glad to hear that. How long after the application deadline was it before you heard back? What is the format for classes?

Hello all!

I am looking at applying to Cox College for the 9/15/18 deadline at start Jan '19. Wondering if any of you can provide an update of how you like/liked the MSN FNP program?

Thanks!

Good morning, I started the program in August 2017 and although it is challenging, I love it. I truly believe the professors care about you and want you to succeed. It is a great program!

Looking to apply to Cox college in September. Are there any required classes or clinical days that have spent on campus or is the program 100% online?

Thanks!

It is pretty much all online...unless something has changed and it could. I graduated May 2018. When I started the program we had required times to come in during the program... I believe it was three time. Only actually came to orientation because they stopped requiring to come in. So as of now...100% online.

Were there any requirements to where you complete your clinicals? Were you happy with the program overall?

It is all online now. There are some requirements with clinicals. The first clinical (60 hours) has to be done in primary care or a walk in clinic. The second semester clinical (180 hours) is done in primary care. Third semester is done in women's health (60 hours) and peds (120 hours) and then 4th semester is primary care (240 hours) but you can do 60 hours of those as speciality hours. You can only use the same preceptor or same clinic twice.

I'm starting 3rd semester in August and I love the program.

Is there a state requirement for clinicals or can they be completed in any state? For example, do you have to complete all your clinical hours in the state of Missouri. thanks for the feed back!

how were you guys notified of your acceptance? phone call, mail, email? Was told I should hear today about acceptance
