Note: This might seem like a strange topic, but seeing as how that is nothing new coming from the source, I'll go ahead anyway.
As nurses, we are trained to do everything we can to save someone until it's no longer feasible or unless doing so would go against a patient's wishes, such as performing CPR for a patient with a a DNR/DNI.
However, theoretically, anyone of us could "code" at anytime--and this includes at work.
For those who are full codes, this wouldn't create any ethical issues. You would simply perform CPR on your coworker as you would anyone else.
However, for those who have DNR/DNIs, issues could come up if coworkers are unaware such orders exist. How do we ensure that these coworkers have their wishes respected should the need come up?
For example, I am legally a Full Code but am wanting to pursue a DNR/DNI. Based on my age and no apparent health issues, I have a feeling most of my coworkers would automatically assume I am a Full Code should circumstances arise, however.
What is the best way to inform my coworkers that under no circumstances should anyone provide CPR to me?
For the rest of you, how do you ensure your coworkers' wishes for CPR or no CPR are ensured? Have you ever experienced such an ethical dilemma at work?

Ah, the self-proclaimed woman ? Naw, I suspect the profile pic was mostly used to attempt to trigger ”lefties” as they were reading his posts while cowering under their couches... Or perhaps he held the man in great esteem and wanted to channel his hero’s aura into his posts. Who knows..
The magnet was a semi-proficient button pusher but he didn’t have an air of unctuous, smarmy sanctimoniousness as far as I could detect.
Anyway, that’s enough of way off-topic posts from me. I don’t want to turn this thread into a depressingly partisan one ?

Yes I agree, it is all quite strange. (And yes, some of my own posts are included in that assessment).

I need to know - is Davey really Silverbells? If he is - WOW! Davey? Why? I don't know if you think it's cute or funny, but it's neither.
And if he was joking and he really isn't Silverbells - same.
I know what you mean about wasting time on a bizarrely fascinating thread.
Unless all nurses from the Midwest (Davey lives in Illinois and SilverBells repeatedly uses the word "pop" to mean soda, so I'm assuming they're from the same region) are secretly the same person (there's a user named HoosierRN who might be in on this conspiracy), I don't actually think Daveydo and SilverBells are the same person. This is based on the fact that Daveydo and SilverBells both replied to me at the exact same time yesterday, each to a different post I made. This has really just grown into one of those threads that defy all logic.

"Pop" is used here in the PNW as well.
This is painful, people.
Look, this latest mystery was brought about due to seeing how so many people have been engaging in "all of this" as if it is real. This has been some AN version of punk'd all along...but not because of any dual identities. The dual identity idea has been put forth, I believe, to help those who need help to see the many ways that this could be....anything.
There was also a bit of an explanation of the psychiatric aspects of the behavior. Probably a few pages back now. Which you all were supposed to take as: A blatant explanation of the psychiatric aspects of this behavior.

* Why don't you consider this real? People are invested in both Davey and SilverBells. Their posts are entertaining and pertinent. Also, respect is due to everyone regardless of their posts.

* What psychiatric behaviors are you talking about specifically?
