Meals-on-Wheels!!!

My local County BOH is working with Johnson & Johnson to provide the vax to homebound clients of my county's Meals-on-Wheels program.

I received information during a daily meal drop-off last week. The MOW program is an EXCELLENT source of reference information to identify a very vulnerable population of clients so sorely in need of the vax. They KNOW who we are - they visit 5 days a week for meal delivery with a wellness check.

Like so many others, I am homebound. Totally homebound with ambulation issues . No way am I able to go to any vax-center. I can't walk or wait in lines. Just not feasible for me, nor for many others like myself.

Thru diligent searching, I have managed to have many other services provided for me in-home. I am just THRILLED that this program will solve the problem of vax access for me.

A nurse will be making home visits to admin the vax.

****** TAKE NOTE for any case managers, home care staff, visiting nurses, or family of home-bound residents, this program is a god-send. Maybe the info will help y'all.

I've been advocating for using existing services that go homes for a while, my suggestion was to train Amazon delivery drivers, Fed Ex, etc to give vaccinations, then make Amazon Prime day a monthly thing, we'd have the whole country vaccinated in a couple of months.

But Meals on Wheels works too, my dad volunteers for them and it seems to be an excellent program, good to hear they've been utilized for this.

I'm not sure how Amazon delivers in your area, but I've had huge boxes literally thrown at my house or just into my yard. It was alarming the first few times. I'm not sure I'd want them anywhere near me with a needle.
