November VB is out! May 05 is the cut-off for Philippines...

Hello. I am so happy for those who's PDs ar now current...keep your fingers crossed. Pray harder and goodluck for the upcoming battle, the medical and consular interview.

Mine is August 2005. Need to wait again for quite sometime. No worries as I have a good and stable job here in Middle East.

Hey Nurse_med30. What's up??? You made me smile. I don't think you exactly mean it. Suzzane is nice. I still believe she's pro-immigrants, immigration friendly as she was once an immigrant if I am not mistaken.

She's one of the Pillar of this forum, So I guess we should give her the due respect despite of some disappointing remarks that she is raising. As Dhel previously said...Hate the message, not the messenger. hehehehe

Sorry, but born and raised in the US. But have lived overseas.

I am just quite honest with what is happening here in the US, sure there are things that others do not want to hear, but they are what is going on here.

hopefully it will move on.but im sure suzanne wont be happy if it will jump in 2 years. heheheheh

There is no reason for one to post like this.

I live and work in the US and see what is happening here. The US has been under a retrogression for essentially two years now, and things are not changing. Actually getting worse.

What bothers me the most is when people from other countries insist that the US has to have a job for them, but their own country will not permit a foreign nurse to work there. Things have to move both ways.

Supply and demand also factor into this and that is the reason that the PIC countries have different dates and have been involved directly in the last retrogression as well. Many more applicants than there are visas allotted per year. And there are more and more applicants submitting petitions on a daily basis so things are actually going to get tighter for most, not easier.

Just to explain how things are actually done in the US. There are only just under 10,000 visas for those from the largest of the countries that send people to the US. This includes India, China, and the Philippines. This number of visas has not risen in quite sometime and do not expect that it will. There are only 140,000 green cards per year for those that are under the EB-3 category.

If you take into account the snaffu that happened last summer, there were 800,000 I-485 petitions submitted for the AOS procedure. These come out of the 140,000 per year that are issued. So do not expect things to move up anytime soon. There are still many more applicants than there are visas waiting.

If you would take the time to do some reading here instead of criticizing me for being honest about what is happening. You also need to be very aware that your agency or employer must have a position available for you if and when the time comes for an interview with the US Embassy. More and more facilities are having hiring freezes and lay-offs, and if they cannot hire an American, they most definitely cannot bring over a foreign nurse. Remember that your job offer letter is just that, it does not guarantee employment if they cannot hire at that time.

I just don't see how one would expect to come over here and expect to be hired over a nurse who is a citizen/legal resident and educated here in the US. A lot of them are wanting to apply for the new grad positions when there just aren't enough positions for our own. I think the problem also has to do with their government giving them false hope of them finding a job in the US as an RN after graduation. For example the Philippines wont even hire their own graduates because the hospitals want the graduates to PAY THEM TO VOLUNTEER! To me, that's unethical and slave labor when they have a staff shortage. Their government needs to step in and put a stop to the slave labor.

Since the November Bulletin has been released, there is no longer any countdown to it.

Closing this thread since it is repeatedly taken off topic in the past day or two and is no longer current.
