COT/Stationing Assignments from November Boards!!!!

Hey everyone! When you find out when you're going to COT and where you get stationed, let everyone know!

I just found out today! I'm going to COT in January, and got stationed at Travis, which was my second choice! I'll also be doing NTP in Scottsdale, AZ, only 2 hours away from where I live - which is really really convenient!

Good luck to everyone! If you haven't heard today, I'm guessing you'll hear by Monday or Tuesday... if you're an NTP candidate, at least. I think maybe people with experience are going to hear later than us, according to some other posts I've read?

Thanks BSN Katy for your info....

I too had my packet sent in for the January boards, but still haven't heard anything. The difference between me and you though is that I won't have to go to NTP. Hopefully I'll hear something soon. My husband is leaving in April for boot camp and we really wanted to know something before he left! Has anyone else heard from the January boards?

midinphx got your message unfortunately couldn't reply in private due to not having enough posts. I was updated by my recruiter today that my application is being processed (like they've started doing with yours several weeks ago) and that they didn't need any additional paperwork from me. So from here on who knows how long it will be till I'll have an answer and an assignment. In the meantime I go to work and try not to think about it. It would be great to talk more as soon as I have enough posts. Stay busy, we'll get there.

It's absolutely amazing that they process the new grads so much quicker than the experienced nurses.

I just want some sort of response. They've had my paperwork completed since October, I assume at the least they would have sent me notice that they were rejecting me! lol. My house, my kids, my dogs, and my ex are all hanging in the balance. I just have to relax and hope it all falls into place when I get an answer from the Air Force.

You might have hit a board that only reviewed new grads - that's what happened to me. I know it stinks - I was there - I sent in my packet in February and didn't hear until May. Remember - essentially the Feds close up house for most of December. So hang in there. :redpinkhe:redpinkhe:redbeathe:redbeathe:up:

Ladies and gents, I had the same heart wrenching experience. Package was completed in November, sent to some board for review although I was never given a definitive answer on this one. Bottom line is that I didn't find out until March either. My guess is....and this is only a guess....is it is much easier to select new grads and place them where ever they wish. However, when the board reviews RNs with experience the game begins trying to place them in the right unit/base determined by experience level, needs, rank, etc.

I know each of you is trying to take your mind off things. Use that time to increase your physical fitness and your run time. That way when you are selected you won't have to play catch up two weeks before your scheduled COT date! I know, easier said than done sometimes, but recall that I was in your spot only a few years ago and being physically fit took the stress off and by the time I left for COT I was in really good physical condition.

Great advice...I have enjoyed getting back into shape. It's so much easier with a goal, and it does a great job of keeping your mind off of the unknown.

I have already taken that advice. I've been a gym rat for a long time. I'm one of those that everyone knows (which tells me I spend too much time there! lol). I think I need to get out of the gym and hit the streets more, so I'm working on that. It is great advice, thank you.

I know it's very hard ya'll. Good for you for hitting the gym now! The wait may be long and agonizing, but when you find out you are selected everything will move quickly. You'll be so thankful that you were well prepared. Best of luck for now...I'm sure the good news will come soon!
