just because a little bit of info is better to me than absolutely nothing i wanted to throw out there what my recruiter told me yesterday. i called him to see if he had heard anything (i've been accepted but don't know where/when i'm going) and he told me that he had spoken to somebody else about how long this was taking and they gave him permission to send an email up the chain about it. i believe he said he sent it to the top of the chain as far as assignments are concerned but i'm not 100% sure. anyway, as of last night he had not heard anything but he said it's getting ridiculous with how long it's taking so even if he has to "get himself in all sorts of trouble and raise cain" (his words) he was going to find out something by this friday or make sure it gets addressed in the staff meeting first thing monday morning.
i know that's not overly helpful but it made me feel a little better knowing that something about something was kind of almost getting done. so maybe before christmas we'll know something!

Mobro,
Thanks for the tidbit. I saw my recruiter yesterday. He's been harassing the higher ups about it too. He also related that he spoke to another recruiter that had even more waiting and in limbo than he does. He related the RUMOR that there will be an extra board to deal with the quantity of applicants. I hope we hear before Christmas, but I'm not really expecting anything.
Where are you from and what's your RN experience?
I'm in AZ, going in as a qualified critical care RN.
I'm in Georgia and just graduated in May. I was in a critical care residency program in Atlanta but I resigned when I found out I got into the Air Force- because of the contract I was in I would end up owing a lot more money to the hospital if I had kept working until I went to COT. So the only actual experience I have is in critical care but it was for a pretty short time.
Oh no! You aren't working with this limbo process we're in?! So sorry. That makes it so much worse. I'm feel really lucky right now. I am not stressed and rushing while I enjoy this last holiday at home with my kids. (They are not moving with me, but staying here with their dad)

thanks for the info mobro! i'm a new grad waiting for my COT/station too. i'll be calling my recruiter today (as i like to check up on this whole thing once a week). i hope she'll have some good news too. word before christmas would be great!
my recruiter just called and said that the 23rd is the new magic day for releasing info. of course he followed that with "i don't know how long it will take to get it uploaded into the computer..." which is what he said after the board met and i didn't hear anything for two weeks. so the waiting game has been extended a little further...

Mobro, did he mention if we are 100% off the January list? (It's probably a dumb question.)
he said it was highly unlikely that january was still a possibility but still within regulations that they could release assignments wednesday for january cot. some rule changed so that in years past, i guess, by now would be too late to be notified for january but this time around it's not. i'm not sure of the specifics there. long story short, january is probably out of the question but still a tiny, though remote, possibilty. helpful, i know.
I like that "magic date" idea. That is how we have all been feeling! lol.
I'm chilling and not worrying about it until January 18th, just for my own sanity.

I got a mass email from my recruiter that she forward from her supervisor. It also said the 23rd. I am telling myself that I will probably hear sometime in February, before the March COT.
Wouldn't that be a great Christmas present.....an answer! lol. Everyone go find a Santa.
i'm going out to find me a santa now... haha
