COT class 10-03

Just found out that I will be going to the March 09 COT! I will be going to Travis for NTP then stationed at Nellis! My husband and I are both very excited!

Is one else going to COT in March?

Hey fellow COT classmates - we have a facebook page under groups USAF COT 10-03.....Get plugged in!

Does anyone know if we can wear princess cut blues shirt?

Also do we need to bring any nurse related supplies for "Warrior Week"?

I haven't heard of warrior week... what is that?

I think Warrior Week is just a BMT thing, not COT. Not 100% certain, but pretty sure.

There's no warrior week at COT.

You wouldn't have time for it anyway, really.

The ruling at COT when I was there was that blues are a comfort issue and therefore do not have to be standardized. What I think that boiled down to was Maxwell perpetually runs short on everything and it was impossible for everyone to get fitted for one particular type of shirt. I had two princess cuts and two tuck ins when I got there - because I'd heard all the standardization horror stories and was determined to be prepared.

I won't have to buy blues the rest of my AF career, really. :)

Hey Jmaverick i am stationed at Travis (enlisted), but i have been here for over four years and can tell you a great deal about the area if you are interested. I was also wondering if you could answer some questions for me also about stations. I'm wondering are most people getting one of their five top choices or what? Very curious.

I believe most people are getting their top 3, some noted exceptions, but i haven't heard of anyone not getting top 5. Me and my wife got our second choice(Travis).

My only question is regarding housing. I'm looking at apartments online, but haven't seen anything I like. Any suggestions. I want something nice, but I dont want to go over 1400.00.

-Anyone know how travel works after COT? Do they give us travel money upfront or GTC?

Jmaverick: I was talking to someone stationed at Travis (that is where I am going also) and he said apartments in that area are for young adults as there are a lot of music and partying going on. He said it is not, for families

I have a great website that will help you tons. It's AHRN.com, and it has listing fir apartments and housing. You also may want to consider renting a house. Me and my wife have a very nice house we are renting at $1500 a month. That is a little over the price range you are looking for, but on the website you should be able to find something in the range you are looking for. I hope this helps!

I have been looking at www.militarybyowner.com since I cannot log into AHRN.com without a military email. You can look by base and proximity. I have found some really reasonably priced rental homes near my gaining base that are also owned by military members.

Guess what?! Someone on the board has actually looked at my packet. Finally. I know this, because they asked for more paperwork!!! lol. They want my release from inactive reserves, not just my DD214. And I don't have that letter. My recruiter said he already sent for it and it should be there tomorrow. How many trees can we kill!? I'm actually really excited that my papers are in someone's hands. :)

We found our house on realtor.com. Actually, we found TONS of houses on realtor.com.

And midinphx - GREAT NEWS.
