Hi, my name is Ella and I have been checking out this site for a few months now and finally got the nerves to post a question here.
Well, I am from CT and I am getting ready to take the pre-entrance exam for the LPN program at Porter and Chester, my question is , is it true that the NET test will only have basic math and reading? I have been studying science because I had read somewhere that it would be part of the test as well. Thanks for all your input.

Yes, the test will only have simple math (no calculus) and reading comprehension on it. They sell books that will help you prepare for the exam. Call Porter and Chester and ask them where you can buy the NET (Nursing Entrance Test) book to help you study. Usually, once you register for the LPN entrance exam you can tell them that you want to buy the book to prepare yourself for the test. If they don't know about the book, call Vinal Tech High School's Nursing Dept and ask how you can purchase the LPN program entrance test preparation book (it's a small 100 page book with a light blue cover)...their number is 860-344-7100 extension #322. Middlesex Community College in Middletown, CT used to offer a LPN entrance exam course that would help you get prepared for the exam and I heard good things about it from my classmates in LPN school that took it and did well enough that they were able to get a high enough score to get into the program. Amazon
.com has some books available as well:
