Porter and Chester
Hi taigee, sorry I didn't reply sooner. I have been busy with work and my kids. Anyhow, to answer your question on employment, I was hired at Harborside Healthcare Center in Danbury the same day I graduated. How sweet was that?!! I love my new job. Most of the skills I have learned in school was put to use. Once again, I am very excited for you and hope to hear nothing but great things. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. Porter and Chester
I'm so excited for you. I just graduated from P&C in July. I took the NCLEX-PN exam about 2 weeks ago and passed. I am so glad that you were accepted and know that you will not regret it. My only advice to you is to stay focus. Do not get discouraged, It is a difficult program but with a lot of hard work and studying you will do just fine. Ella Love

I'm so excited
Hey there taigee, I would be happy to give you the information you are requesting. Classes take place M-Thur. from 9am-3:30pm. Clinical begins towards the end of the first term and the hours run from 8am-3pm. I believe in the beginning you will attend two days of clinical a week and three times a week in the fifth term. Keep in mind that you will be required to attend some Fridays. The great thing about this program is that you are not required to drive to far for clinical. The farthest clinical site for us was located in Wallingford. If you have anymore questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me, I will do my very best to help answer you questions. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I really do hope you get the oppurtunity to attend this school. Please let me know how everything turns out. Ella L.

I'm so excited
Hey there, Yes, I will be graduating soon:yeah: I can't believe how fast 15 months went by. I want to appologize for not getting back to you all and answering some of your questions about the school. In my opinion, P&C is one of the best schools in CT. I attend the campus located in Watertown. The instructors there are great. They are there for you every step of the way. This LPN program is very difficult and this will be mentioned upon your first interview. Be prepared to do a minimum of 4-5 hours of homework a night. It can get overwhelming at times but if this is what you want, you will defintely put in the time and hard work. I do not regret attending this school and would absolutely recommend anyone who wants to attend an LPN program, to look into P&C. Good luck to you all. Ella L.

Question about the NET
Hey there taigee, :welcome: , I chose to go to Porter and Chester because I wanted to start school as soon as possible. I did try for kaynor tech. but did not get in. It does cost much less than these private institutes. It's costing me about 30,000. I know that is alot of money, but like I said before I wanted to start now. I just couldn't wait for next August to start. Now about the LPN program at Porter and Chester. The program is new at this school. 12 out of the 20 students graduated yesterday. I just started the program on Monday and love it. I know it's early in the program to say this but I absolutely love my instructors. They are there to make sure you pass and if you are having difficulties understanding the subject, they will go over it with you untill you understand it. They are a bit strict but also very funny. I know for a fact that I will accomplish my goals because I have them teaching me. I was supposed to start in October but lucky for me they squeezed two more students in for the April program. Maybe you should give the school a call and get more info. if your still interested in attending their school. Good luck to you in whatever you choose Ella

Accepted-Now having second thoughts
I totally agree with you. I was supposed to start in the fall but I recieve a phone call the other day and was told I can start on Monday and of course I said yes. Yesterday for the first time, I began to panic. I'm ready to give it my all but I just keep feeling like I might not do as well as I would like. Anyhow, after reading this thread , I know that I am not alone on this and do feel much better about my decission to start now. Thanks .

Question about the NET
Thanks. I had my interview yesterday and the instructor told me that on my first test I scored a 39 and on my second test I scored an 89, how great is that. Anyhow, I was told I should hear from them in about a week. I'm a little bumed out because the April program is completely filled. I was told that they are starting to put together the October session. I just hope I get in this one.
