Published

I'm looking for some advice here... so started nursing career out two years ago at LTC facility left there for awhile did med surg bc that's what's they beat into you you as a new grad well I did that for almost a year and couldn't do midnight anymore with little ones. So a little over a month ago I took a post partum job. I enjoyed what I did however my preceptor was rough and they managed to change my shift three times.... I ended up quitting again and I honestly don't know what to do is this normal? I feel like I worked so hard to get my degree but I honestly don't know what to do with it.

Where's your heart at? What would you like to be doing? What external factors play into your job, such as children, schooling, responsibilities, etc? Need a little bit more info to give you some guidance.

Nobody tells you how much nursing sucks until you're in it, I feel like. Too much to do, too little time to do it, management micromanaging your charting, family members micromanaging your care, policies and procedures changing all the time, the whole customer service mentality, getting along with coworkers who are equally as stressed as you are...

Even on the days I really do love my job, I can still recognize that it sucks. I think that's just how it is everywhere.
