hi there!

i'm so confused. i failed nclex twice and on to the 3rd one. I stopped studying cuz something came up but it didnt follow through so now i'm back to studying again..but now, i feel so discouraged and hopeless and sometimes even lazy to open the book. I'm pressed for time because I have a daughter and want badly to get out of my parents house. How do i get back up on my feet again? The only time I have really is when my daughter sleeps at night because during the day I have stuff to do and I can't seem to concentrate at studying even while my daughter is busy watching tv but thats just me. any word of advice would be nice. i'm reading the saunders book again just to refresh my content.

something or someone will always come up that may seem more important. I have 3 kids and something always came up. It was very hard. But, you have to make it a priority.Even if sometimes all you can do is just 10, 20 0r even 25 questions a day. carry books with you everywhere even the bathroom. Is there anyone that can watch your daughter at least for an hour. like I said u have to push urself everyday even for those 10 questions.also put up little notes everywhere like the fridge or on the mirror. It took me almost 2 yrs after my failing the first time to actually get back on that horse becuz I was feeling the same way you are. But. think to about Ur daughter future. Good Luck!!! DON"T GIVE UP.

thanks so much for replying. i always felt like i was the only one going through this thats why it feels so heavy sometimes. no one can watch her. =0( i have her with me the whole day and the hardest part there is right when im about to open a book even when she's watching tv (w/c is like a baby sitter sometimes) she sees me doing something and comes right at me asking for my attention. I can't blame her or even say no or get mad at that because thats just stupid. of course its my daughter over wat i'm doing but its just the time you know. its hard to find that good long time to really focus on just books with no disturbances whatsoever so i could really concentrate to what i am actually reading. so yeah..thanks a lot!

I agree with kassie1kalel you have to push yourself, get motivated and Focus. Get some nursing audio review disc to listen to around the house, in the car. Or get the nursing review dvd, watch it with you daughter it will probably bore her to sleep, then you can really study. How long do she sleep? I think you can dedicate at least 3 days a week, 2hr a day, that's not that much. How old is your daughter?

Take some time to reflect on this. Do you want to remain confused, discouraged, and lazy or would you rather be licensed, working as an RN, and satisfied in achieving your goals?

Hi,

Where do u live? I live in the atlanta area and Im currently not working, but I found the YMCA that has a free pre-school program for ages 3months to 4 yrs old..Maybe u can check and see if they have a program there. I feel ur stress I let everything get in the way, but now im at the end of my unemployment and saying I gotta put myself first...im gonna read and even if it's at least for a hour when their home..btw I have 3 kids, nagging boyfriend and 3 house guests, so trust me it can be done.

You can do it, don't give up. I know it's seems discouraging but remember you got through nursing school. I don't have children but I do agree with the others said try to see if there are resources out there that help with childcare. I wish you the best of luck and pray, God hears and answers prayers:)
