confused about applying to different schools

im aiming to apply to the nursing program this school year. But i am a little confused on how to apply. I currently attend CSULA and am working on my GE's and nursing prereqs. But some of the prereqs at my school are different than the ones at other schools. Do i still apply to all the ones i want to, or do i have to complete more prereqs that satisfy other schools too? Please help if you can.

I am applying to CSULA too! Man there are a lot of us! I will be making a thread especially for us in the CA nursing programs section under the tab region, then US

Most, if not all, your GE's and pre reqs will transfer to other schools. What schools are you looking for? BSN at cal states or ADN programs? Go to each schools website, search for the nursing department and then go to admissions info/ program requirements and then it lists the pre req classes needed. As far as I know, CSULA is the only BSN program that doesn't need o chem and a math requirement like CSUF, CSULB, and CSUSB.

The community colleges need, at the LEAST, anatomy, physio and microbiology done before you apply. You can apply to as many programs as you want and/or qualify for, and it is highly recommended. You may attend CSULA but that doesn't mean you can make it into their program. I am a transfer and luckily we are both held at the same standards (as far as I know).

I will be applying for the school this Oct and once I have my CIN# I will apply to the School of Nursing for the fall 2012 cohort.

If I may ask, what is your stats so far? I feel its going to be really competitive this year! So the fun begins!

Apply to as many schools possible...I'm meeting the requirements for all the CSU's so i'll get in somewhere hopefully

Come up with a game plan. Which school is your number one pick? Fulfill their requirements first. Then if you need another class for school number two, take that class, etc., etc., until you have applied to all schools you care to apply to, and have taken all possible courses. Make yourself a big spreadsheet with all the schools and all their req's on it. Use this as your worksheet while you plan all of this out. Good luck getting into your first choice!

@BeachBedHead: I'm almost done with the prereqs for my school. All i have left is microbio. I'm exempt from taking math because i have AP calculus to cover that for me. I'm probably gonna take O Chem winter quarter just so it'll give me more options for applying. My GPA is pretty good so far, but it keeps dropping with each prereq i take. Hopefully i get in.

Yea. Don't worry. Ace the teas and get healthcare experience/ volunteer for extra points. I'm hoping to get in too! This is my top choice. So who knows.
