Conflicting requirement for NCLEX Test! Please Help

Published

hello everyone:

i'm completing my nursing program (adn) in august 2008 and like to give nclex exam as soon as possible. i found following conflicting statement in texas board of nursing website (ftp://www.bon.state.tx.us/rnexam.pdf) in regards to nclex exam:

* a completed application by nclex-rn® examination, all fees, and a photo must be submitted to the board 120 days prior to your

graduation date.

* the affidavit of graduation (aog) form must be completed by the dean/director of your nursing program. the document must be signed on or after the date of graduation.

my question is how it is possible to provide affidavit of graduation (aog) form 120 days prior to graduation date.

could someone please guide me to the right direction or kindly explain me the step by step procedure to take nclex examination in houston, texas.

thank you all.

this is how my school does it, and i've heard several others do it as well, for those of us that want to take the nclex right after graduation.

you send all of this in 120 days prior -

that's everything but the affidavit.

your school should send out the affidavit asap after graduation, they take care of that part for you. my school sends it out as soon as they get a "pass" from your clinical instructor and you pass your final.:yeah:

schools understand the need/want to take it as soon as you can after graduation, and do the best they can to cater to that. just ask your department head to find out if they do that.

Yep...same here. We sent in all our stuff and then we registered for NCLEX. Once we graduated, the school sent the paperwork.

They aren't asking for your AOG 120 days prior to graduation.

in your nclex packet there is usually a paper - which can get lost - that is filled out by you and signed by you that is given to the administrater of the school.

at the point of graduation, they will kindly mail your information out to the BON address that you put on that paper - beware....it can get lost. ...... especially with all of the other paperwork that is involved with it!

good luck!

eat breakfast before!

get a goodnight's sleep!

and welcome to nursing!
