Just as long as you have RN license from where you graduated
Hi Nurse_Gal,
Confirming the concurrency issue in illinois state, is also confirming of denial of license application of foreign grads from the Philippines in the future
if this concurrency issue proves true in illinois it could simply mean that a RN license holder from the Philippines is not enough for the illniois license RN application.
in short, this is a serious issue if this is true, it could be a similar case of major frustrations of Filipino RN applicants who applied for California Board of Nursing

While IL is a state that does have the concurrency regulations somewhere in their policy, it is not enforcing it at this time, but they can do so at any time and without any prior notice. It must be stated somewhere in their written policy if you ask or want to review it from their website.
Remember that getting an RN license is a privilege, not a right. Just like taking the driver license test and allowing one to drive a car, that privilege can be taken away at any time and any place, as it's stated with their written rules and regulations and I'm sure whatever state's lawyers do, they can find the written item to enforce the take back of a license (revoked or suspended or termination). The laws are written to protect the public and the agencies.

State of Illinois requires the NLE passage because it somehow lessens or filters the fraudulent issues that made the enforcement of concurrency requirement stricter in California. California does not require proof of passage of NLE.
Remember when we had to apply for the NLE? We had to submit all the requirements such as OR/DR cases and in the regional office where I applied for my NLE, they really scrutinized our cases one by one and made sure we were in the roster of graduates to make sure nobody faked anything.
Illinois does enforce the concurrency of theory and clinicals...check out their application packet where it says...
Excelsior College is an unapproved nursing education program in the State of Illinois due to the fact that it does not have concurrent theory and clinical components as required by the Illinois Nurse Practice Act. Therefore, it is considered to be a correspondence course which is identified by the Act as not meeting the requirements for licensure.
Besides, if we graduated from a legit nursing school then we have nothing to be afraid of. We passed the NLE fair and square and that is enough proof that we can have the privilege of taking the licensure exam where we live now. So far I have not heard of anybody got denied for eligibility who completed their CES, passed NLE and other requirements.

Hi iamApril,
So you mean to say that the California concurrency issue is totally different from Illinois concurrency issue ?
California BRN does their own TOR and RLE evaluation, they have their own analysts who require TOR, RLE, Nursing booklet, OR/DR cases, curriculum book of your nursing school etc....
whereas Illinois BRN accepts CGFNS-CES which requires only TOR, RLE and Phils RN license...
2 states have different requirements. I don't even know how Illinois verifies if an applicant has concurrency issues because the OR/DR cases are not included in the CES requirements.
To the OP: you should have no problems with the concurrency issue in IL. As long as they don't start to implement an enforcement date, you're safe, but I would not wait too long as like in CA, it can be started at any time.
Here's a good step by step process to process your application into IL: CLICK here: https://allnurses.com/nurse-registration/step-step-guide-787612-page6.html
