Hey ya'll. I just submitted my app last week (on day of deadline) and am complete. Waiting to hear back about interview offer, or lack thereof. This is the only school I applied to because I can get all prereqs done by summer. I have a friend that went to Concordia NY and loved his experience. Anyone else apply or accepted yet? Let's get a 2017 channel going!
I've been thinking about it and the only way I will be able to afford it is by taking out loans. Once my excitement settled down I've found that I'm starting to really worry about where this will leave me financially. Assuming I survive the program I doubt I'll be making a comfortable salary right away and with a $50K+ loan tacked on I'm really apprehensive about everything now. Still thankful I was accepted but I'm just trying to find a way to plan ahead.
I talked to financial aid again, and the $41,900 figure was based off of a prior year's attendance costs. They are re-calculating the cost of attendance as of last week, so the maximum amount that you can take out in loans may be higher for the 2017 cohort. I accepted my offer of admission and sent in my $500 deposit. I expect to take out ~$80k in loans when everything is said in done as I will have to pay for everything with loans. I also come from out of state, not that that makes a difference in cost at a private college like Concordia. I believe that new BSN grads start out making $60k-$70k, so $80k is a TON of student debt to take out. I am still doing it though.
Hi everybody!!
I applied for the FALL 2018 program and was told that the board was reviewing my application yesterday. I can not wait to hear from them.
For the students that were accepted for the FALL 2017, how is it going so far?
If you do not mind sharing, I have a few questions:
Were you able to apply for federal student loans? If not, how are you financing the program now? Any tips?
Also what is the typical class schedule? And what hospitals do you go to for clinicals?
- And ekim17 Congrats!!!
Thanks in advance!!
