Is this correct? Concordia closed its nursing programs on the west coast. Be careful you guys.

I have no clue. I applied and spoke to an admission advisor who helped me with my app. Hopefully it’s not true ?

I would look up Concordia Nursing school closure on Youtube. They have new reports on it closing in Oregon and I believe in Texas in the next month. Good luck.

Are any of you guys in the program? What do you think of it? I’m waiting for the last of my transcripts to be sent in for my application to be complete. How long did they take to contact you?

Go to a non profit school unless you’re 50, and you need it done fast.  Trust me

Have you taken the TEAS? I’m in the process of applying and only missing the TEAS exam but I’m not doing good in the practice exams I’ve been taking so I’m debating if I should even pursue this school especially cause the distance and I don’t know anything about the school nor know anyone who graduated in nursing .

I graduate in 2 months.  School is easy.  For profit schools are bad schools.  The education isn't good.  Look at the NCLEX pass rates.  They are good indicator of the school.  Go somewhere else.  You're paying a lot of money for an inferior education.

Isn’t Concordia a non-profit school, though? What do you think of the school?

I am currently in my first semester of the program. The program is in no way easy. I have never heard someone say nursing school is easy. I spoke to other nurses who graduated from the program and they said that the school prepared them. The school is tough, you need to really work for your grades and to maintain your spot in the program. If you’re a disciplined student you’ll make it through, if not, you won’t.

I was accepted to WGU for the Dec start. I don’t expect this program to be easy whatsoever. Especially with it being a competency-based program. I have heard they’ve made some improvements for it to feel like a traditional program (but online). I wouldn’t want to be in any program I thought was “easy.” Because the field of nursing is anything more than easy. Not to mention the program being accelerated at 16 months. Although I feel like the material can be more easily grasped by some students. I applied to Concordia and haven’t yet received a response. I do like the program is accelerated but WGU is probably a better fit for me. And it’s A LOT cheaper.

Don’t listen to people online. A lot of these people recruit for the school. Look at their NCLEX pass rate and compare their price and pass rates to public schools.  That’s it.  Go on Youtube and look up concordia school closures.  As far as nursing school being hard, it isn’t.  Busy work is time consuming, not hard.  Hard is when you study your *** off, know the material, and barely pass.  This isn’t that type of program.

You’re patting yourself on the back too much.  If nursing school was that hard, a hard science like physics would be impossible.  Imagine how hard it is to be a surgeon? When algebra is a prerequisite, they’re not looking for scholars. Just finish the program and be a good nurse. Btw, all schools are competency and GPA based.  I got a 98 on my TEAS.

When I say competency-based, I’m referring to them being a pass/fail school. They do not have a traditional grading system like other schools. You get a 3.0 regardless. The “pass” grade you get for each course comes down to a 3.0. I do agree that other professionals have a more difficult path depending on the subject. However, whether nursing school is hard or not is totally subjective. And good for you on your TEAS score!

Also, when I checked the TBON, Concordia and WGU both had a 100% NCLEX pass rate last year.
