Concorde in Jacksonville?

U.S.A. Florida

I tried to do a search and there doesnt seem to be anyone that has gone to the nursing program at Concorde in Jacksonville. I was accepted into their Spetember class with the option of starting later this month if sopts become available. I know there are Concordes in other cities but Im sure that every city has different experiences. Any comments, good or bad, would be appreciated.

I went to Concorde in Jax in 06/07 and there is not a 100% acceptance rate. Out of 30 students to start with me only 17 graduated. the cost very high, and if you look and your itemized cost sheet it seems like they're riping you off. A couple of the instructors are below average, if I could do all again I'd go to FCCJ. I have a very good job at a hospital making about $50k but i still have a large student loan c/o Concorde.

I'm with you....I'm currently at Concorde but I'm thinking about dropping out and going to FCCJ.

I am fine. I am going to Sanford Brown for their nursing program. I love it there. Everyone is very nice to you and not just when you are enrolling even after you start. In order to get a guaranteed seat in the nursing program I would have to take a MA or Coding program first ( previous students get a seat before anyone else) I Like it so far and I feel that I made a great decision.

Hey, Grongatulations, you did good....you should try to go to Keiser, the pre entrance test it's like concord but it doesn't not have multiple choice and I think you need a 19 or 20, and the accreditation it's the same as FCCJ. Also you have time to take the NET over at FCCJ before Concord fall program start, you can take the NET, add up your new scores and micro and any other class and see how your numbers look and then see if maybe u should try at FCCj because I think that after you finish your micro class and take the NET over u might have enough points to get into FCCJ. Well, that's what I'm going to do, the only think that I regret I did not push my self hard enough to get A in AP and Micro, I ended up with B, but I'm just going to have to try harder for the NAT. Well, don't matter where we go to get our RN degree, we need to stay positive, study hard and do well on those classes for us not to loose our seats, because I heard that Concord is also very challenging, but so is FCCJ.

Hey, I forgot to ask you, how do you study for the verbal section at the NAT

I took the the entrance test for kieser you need a 20 and it does have multiple choice and they even give you a point or two if you have been out of school for a long time.

Oh they do, I guess I was going to fast to try to finish that test on time in that little time they give us that I did not see any multiple choice for math, I did really bad, I think I got 11 or 12 and they told that the little extra point comes if we older than 30. I never bother to go back to take that test over.

Thanks, I think I am going to do that about taking the Nat over. I can take it again Aug. 24th, so I am going to do that again and see where my points are? About the Nat- I have the Arco Book , you should get it if you don't already. I have a good friend who started the nursing program at fccj for summer-She is SUPER SMART- She said the way she studied for the Nat was to go over 1 practice test everday until you take the test. THe school told her she had some of the highest grades on the Nat they had seen. So, maybe there is something to it, because I didn't study like that and I didn't do that hot. So, anyways, I guess I will study for the Net this weekend and see what I do on it Tues. Hopefully, we will get this figured out and will be on our ways to be RN's soon!!!

Hey, let me know hoe the NEt is like. I'm going to take it next month, I need a little more time to study

yeah. Their testing policy is a lil shady. You pay $55 for the app fee then you take the entrance test i made a 30.... then I took a math placement test did horrible and place in elem. alg..... now they shouldn't have even let me take the NET test. It has college alg. on it, I couldn't do it on the placement test what made them think that in 2 days I would be able to do it? Then I had to pay $20 just to take the test. I took it twice so all together I spent $95 for nothing. Then they tried to get me to consider another program.... NO I WANNA BE A NURSE! My adm. rep didn't even call me to say "hey I heard you didn't pass you can always take it agian in 4 months don't give up......" nothing but when I was trying to sign up he called me everyday " just to see how I was doing" lol yeah right. But I would have loved to go there, the school and the program they offered seemed to be what I was looking for but the admission staff totally turned me off. I would have waited the 4 months and studied and took the test again but they just seem concerned with how many students they can enroll they didn't really care about your dreams or what YOU wanted to do with YOUR life.

RN2Bee84-Which school's testing policy is a little shady??

Keiser, Sorry

That's ok, that's what I thought . Just wanted to make sure!!Thanks.
